CaptO, what's the general sense of the state of the '14 Indians? How much hope do you have?

Many speculate that the Padres will have the deepest rotation in the NL West next season and if Chase Headley gets back on track and we can add power, we'll absolutely contend for the division.

If you think that is bad, then think about how it is to also have zero interest in any college sports, none for MMA, none for Soccer, and none for hockey.

Lucky for me, baseball has the longest season, and, that I can and do catch games in AZ in the fall, and in the spring.

I like the NFL, I really like college basketball and I love baseball. During the Showtime era I loved the Lakers so much I didn't know other sports existed.

And, when that Showtime era ended, so did my interest in basketball. I still list myself as a Lakers fan, but just because I would never root for anyone else.

Pretty much that we 'might' be ready for prime time. They took a big step forward this yr bringing in Francona & some seasoned bats. Focus off-season should be pitching. We got a lot of dead weight, esp in the BP, & need a true ace. Buzz is that Cabrera & Perez will be dealt. We could get someone of value for Perez but Cabreras values plummeted

Gonna be an interesting off-season

I question letting Perez go. Not that I don't think he will bring value in return, as he should. My feeling is more in the area of there being nobody this year that stepped up to show they can handle the closers job when Perez was on the D.L for a spell. You woudl know better than I, but maybe they have a kid in the minors that is also ready for prime time?

How about this for 2014. They bring back the old red pajama unis they used in 1975?

So ugly they were cool?

Nope, nobody that could step in for Perez. That would have to be another acquisition

'75 unis? :gaah:

Braves win a close one against the tribe, 2-0

Alex Wood has been lights out in the month of August, 0.98 ERA for the month.

Tonight's game will have the biggest pitching mismatch of the series Justin Masterson vs. Paul Maholm

This is the time of the season that could easily break the Dodgers if they don't step up their game. Everyone in their division has their gun sites set on them. Dodgers is going to have the toughest month of their season they have ever faced. It's nearing playoff time and teams want blood
