Travis Hafner just hit a 2 run HR

Dear Boston,

Is that good or bad? Just checking, thanks

it's good. Very good...

Daniel Nava went 4-5 with 2 2b's 1 BB, 4 runs scored and an RBI last night...

In his defense, Boston has been using Pedroia and Brady MVPs as reasons they are the "Best" for years around here

We should be using HRs, right?

So you agree that Dan Uggla shits on Robinson Cano, then?

Because RBIs mean nothing in your ability as a hitter.

You are valuing it over on base percentage and slugging and batting average. When it is a stat that is 100% dependant on what others around you are doing.

Dirt...

What others are doing around you... does not impact your ability as a hitter.

Could not dis-agree more

Titles are won or lost all the time by the ability or in-ability to drive runners in that are on base

Arod went from postseason villain to hero because he has been on both sides of that equation

The Yankees were embarrassed in 2012 because they couldn't drive runners in

It's about the most important thing you do as an offensive player

Is the hockey game on some 3rd rate cable channel again tonight? I was all ready to watch game 3, but then realized I didn't even have the channel where the game was shown. Nice work, NHL!

That's a great story...

We're talking about what makes you a better hitter, not what wins you titles...

Yeah, fuck the guys that drove in Nava, they suck

Nava did what he is paid to do

Papi did what he is paid to do by knocking that mother fucker in

Been on the same station for years...

Did you not watch the Bruins cup run two years ago?

Same networks.

Those that didn't pay any attention to the 04 postseason, yet feel compelled to discuss as if you sat behind home plate..

You're missing a major point..outside of Foulke? That bullpen was REAALLY shakey...

Foulke threw EVERY important inning..back to backs, going multiple innings...

he pitched 2.2 innings of game 4 against NY in the ALCS...kept them in that game, allowed them to hang around and get to mo.

The next night? He pitches 1.1 in almost identical cicrumstances...

And then the next night? He pitches a perfect 9th for the save in game 6...

"but manny had a huge single!!!"

All of this, yet somehow Pete Rose isn't in the HOF.
And what player is in the HOF that got busted doing steroids AFTER it was against the rules? Pete Rose broke a well known rule with a well known penalty that was in place during that time

Yup... the last line of defense for the NY fan..

Now, Paul O'Neil was a better hitter than Barry Bonds...

Winning titles and stuff...

And the point you're missing? Is if there runner isn't on base...you can't drive him in...

I don't credit the hitter that drove him in any more (for that 1 run) than the hitter that got himself on base to be driven in.

Scenerio:

Ellsbury singles to lead off an inning. steals 2nd, goes to third on a flyout to right.

Gets driven in by a grounder to 2nd...

"what a clutch groundout!!!"? No...
