ND is also going after Nebraska Commit 4 star DT Deontre Thomas.
ND is also going after 3 star DE Maryland Kofi Wardlow
ND is going after 3 star DE Texas AM commit Tyree Johnson

Elko doing most of the work. Good to see.

Good to see ND going after some new blood after losing some guys.

I hadn't heard much on the Simmons front and it seems like with Elko's system adding another LB when other needs were out there might have been more of a luxury than a need.

recruiting update 1/16/17
4 star WR Oliver Martin has ND as his #1 right now but Mich is close.
WR PSU Commit Mac Hippenhammer is visiting ND today and wouldn't shock people if he made a change. He always wanted a ND offer. He does love PSU and ND did jump in late but you never know.
4 star WR commit of Missouri Jafar Armstrong is getting a lot of interested from OC Long. This is 1 guy Long is going hard after.
ND has entered Evan Fields race. ASU is in the lead but watch out for ND. He will Visit this weekend to meet the Defensive Coaches.
CB Tre Norwood will visit ND this weekend. ND looks to be in the lead.
Safety Cal Commit Jordan Genmark is visting ND this weekend.

Not many Big names but they are starting to go to their back up plans. Interested to see what happens here. Martin and Armstrong would be BIG pick ups at the WR spot.

4 star WR commit of Missouri Jafar Armstrong looks like he might be irish. This would be a great rebound pick up. Long Likes this kid a lot.
ND also going really hard at Martin. He also looks like he will be Irish.

2 very nice pick ups and should push ND back into the top 10

Word is ND is about to Finish really strong here. Expect ND to land at least 4-5 more kids. 2-3 of them might be flips from other schools committed,.

I've heard this kid is more than likely gonna jump ship and come to ND.

Well it is a position of need, but they need to start getting top tier talent at those positions not flyer guys that hopefully develop.

It will be nice to get to that point where we might have like 1 Freshmen start every year not 3-5 getting a lot of playing time. I know playing time is a positive in recruiting but it does hurt OSU or Bama. Most Bama recruits don't see the field until Jr year.

expect a Big Finish for ND here. It might turn out as one of the better closing recruiting season for ND in a awhile. Here is the list that have ND either #1 or #2. Most are visiting this weekend and next weekend.
CB- Russ Yeast- 4 star- Committed to Louisville. ND was his dream school but the late offer might be too late.
safety- Jordan Genmark-Heath- Committed to Cal- Irish in the lead
Safety- Evan Fields- ASU is in the lead. Irish coming on strong
CB- Tre Norwood- Most think he will be Irish
WR- Oliver Martin- 4 star- Its between ND, MSU and Mich. ND wants this kid.
LB- Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah- Will Vist next thursday. Elko is working hard
DE- Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa- ND trying to steal a player from USC.. Can we land another Hawaiian player.
DE- Jalen Harris- He is on top of ND Defensive board. Tough to beat out Arizona here.
WR- Mac Hippenhammer- Looks like it will be PSU but you never know.
WR- Jafar Armstrong- 4 star recruit. If we can land him and Martin it would be a great WR class.

The thing I like from this list is a lot of Defensive Players. Word is Elko is working super hard to land 5 out of 8 of those kids.

Brent was one of those Top recruits that turned into a Bust. No big loss.

Boom ND just landed 3 star Safety/Athlete Jordan Genmark Heath. Good stuff he flipped from Cal to ND. We need defensive players and this is a good start. Lets hope we finish strong. Now lets see if we can land some 4 star recruits.

24/7 has him listed as a 4 star and the #22 safety in the nation. Glad to get some help/depth in the secondary. Hoping we can land 1 or 2 more on the d-line.
