It is more about the defense but if Kelly wont' fire the guy then it's on Kelly and he and Van Gorder will get the axe.

People thinking these recruits are going to leave, I actually see it the other way around. If you are a top recruit and you are watching guys at your position struggling, why would you not want to come here and win a job? Makes sense to me, if you want playing time right away, well then this is your place. You can see what BK can do with this offense. Have to get a DC who can recruit the best, plain and simple...If these kids are serious about ND and think they are better than the guy in front of him, then why leave??

my answer to this would be ... because they see notre dame with top recruiting classes all failing every year. they just MIGHT suspect there's something wrong here with those in charge. who wants to play for a team like that? the very best recruits know they're going to play no matter where they go. if you mean ND might get the ones who are afraid they won't get to play on good teams and might play at ND, then yes. your logic makes sense.

True but the defensive struggles haven't stopped ND players from being drafted or signing un-drafted free agent deals.

I tend to think that great players want to go to teams that win, if you aren't winning it doesn't help your recruiting efforts.

If I was a stud athlete............I would go to a team that has good coaches, consistent winning program, and gets National exposure. Right now ND has national exposure and that is about it.

yes but recruits also know if they are the ones to turn around ND they will be legends. Plus u get a great education.

I will say this Kelly is doing a good job with players going to the NFL and they are producing at the NFL level. THis is also a positive in recruiting.

Man ND has 2 very good QBs coming to ND in the next 2 years. Avery Davis(2017) and Phil Jurkovec(2018) are going to be good ones.

Avery Davis this week had a monster game and a monster Come back. Entering the 4th Q They were down 43-27. With 8 min left was still down 50-34. Ended up winning 54-50. He had 6 TDs in the game.

Jurkovec playing against the #2 team in PA, ended up losing the game but not because of him. Ended up throwing for 335 yards 2 TDs, 93 rushing yards and 2 TDs. bad news he hurt his thumb and will be out for the season. He did finish this game.

QB isn't the issue defensive players are the issue. But it is nice to have a pipeline of good players coming in at one of if not the most important positions on the field.

Recruiting update:
ND is good position for 5 tar Jeremiah Holloman. 2 team race with ND and Georgia.

Martin is also in good shape. Family wants ND. 3 team race with ND, mich and Iowa.

WR Jamire Calvin is ND back up plan and is willing to wait.

4 star WR and brother of ESB, OSB is still committed to Stanford but he does talk to ND a lot and the success ESB is having in this offense is helping ND out. He also has been stated saying playing with his brother would be great but also wants to carve out his own path. Younger brother Amon-Ra St brown is ND #1 WR target and ND is high with him. He wants to play with his brother and again loves the offense. Family wants all 3 in the same school. Family knows NDs track record with WRs to the NFL and thinks all 3 can make it to the NFL if they go to ND.

5 star OT Trey Smith will take is visit to ND for the VT game. Tenn is in the lead.

CB Thomas Graham has ND in the lead.

DE Joshua Paschal is all ND but needs to work on academics. ND will try and wait as long as they can.

Top Safety Devon Hunter still has ND is the mix. What he likes the most is the chance to play early. Like Todd Lyght a lot.

There were a lot of Recruits there at the game on Saturday sadly

Yep. What's worse is he is saying he doesn't want to play for a mediocre team. This is the direct result of BK's under-performance.

This is a very nice pick up for ND. Losing Jeter Hurts a little more because he was a Big time Need. Dont get me wrong a top CB is a need but ND is lacking that big time De who can rush the QB.

THe good thing about this is Hicks is picking ND because of the school not because of football. Football was a plus for him he said.
