Does he have injury issues? A friend of mine from Michigan says that Hayes was always injured during high school, although he acknowledged that the kid has amazing talent.
He's had shoulder problems. He also bounced around a lot. I think he played one year out in California before coming back to Mich.

Yes he has been injured in the past at the end of the season this year and last I believe it's probably what kept him from being a 5 star on all the recruiting sites.

We seem pretty loaded at LB, right?

Coney, Morgan, Barajas, Martini and now Hayes? These were all 4/5 star guys.

I think we got a ways to go for a Top 5'er.

Yes they do but I think they are taking 24 or 25 guys int his class. So I do believe it will end in the top 10 at least and very close to the top 5 depending on which sites you go by. I think they'll get one more LB that is highly rated at least and then Studstill and McKinley (who is 4 star guy depending on the site)

I want a crazy pass rushing OLB. Morgan looks like a bust.

Yeah he might well be a bust but it's hard because he hasn't played much to really know so all you can really say is he must be a bust because he can't get on the field.

Seems like Nyles would do us a great service if he 'developed' a better football IQ.

All that raw talent ... :tsk:

I was thinking replacing 2 starting MLB's next year will be tough. I know we dont like Schmidt but him and Smith were leaders on that D.

I think that as a sophmore it's too early to call Morgan a bust, but it appears that he still isn't able to make the calls for the defense. (Has anyone heard if Grace will be given a 6th year? ) What about the possibility of having one of the safeties make the Defensive calls, and letting Morgan just rely on his athleticism.

Just some side info: Some negatives are that Hayes has only played in 6 games in the last 3 years. He is ranked high because of camps and other things outside of High school football. Soph year he hurt his left shoulder 4 plays into opening game, His Jr year he had to leave football after 3 games because of Custody battle(not his fault). Then this year he hurt his Right shoulder. So both shoulders are screwed up.

I do like the kid and most experts say he is special but can he stay on the field. Lets hope so.

Do you really trust our safeties after the year they just had.

I know we have good receivers but were losing Chris Brown and Amir Carlisle two pretty solid leaders on offense.

Ehhh ... I wasn't the one calling him a bust, brah. I just wish he'd learn to use his noggin and develop a better IQ for football. I do think, in his defense maybe, the BVGs scheme(s) are way complicated.

Dunno bout Grace, but I heard Joe Schmidt is attempting to break new NCAA ground by applying for 7th year eligibility for one more shot at crystal with ND.

Not necessarily from a playing perspective, but I'm talking about from a perspective of making the calls for the defense. If this would allow Morgan to make it on the field, it might be a an opportunity to get our best athletes an the field.

Or maybe just maybe Van Gorder and Kelly need to evaluate things simplify the defense.
