Well this is going to be interesting for the next few weeks.

update on IM: He called Kelly last night to say sorry and that he didn't mean what he said. It didn't come out right. He is very excited about seeing ND this weekend and that VaTech has not offered him and was told that they most likely won't offer. He has his final 3 of Florida, Ole Miss and ND. He hasn't made up his mind yet.

ND is in the mix. He did tell kelly that VaTech was his dream school because that is who liked since he was little. He didn't want to lie to Kelly. Kelly was ok with that.

So I guess this is good news.

I guess it's encouraging that he hasn't eliminated Notre Dame, hopefully he ends up committing.

I mean basically you can go to an SEC school and get a degree that isn't worth the paper it's printed on, or Notre Dame.

Update on juju and how his visit from the coaches were.

“Notre Dame’s head coach Brian Kelly and the offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock came by,” Smith discussed. “It was the three of us, my mom and my dad. We were talking about how impressive a degree from Notre Dame is and how important that is to me and my family. That’s the main thing with Notre Dame. They are great academically, spiritually and with football.
“I feel very comfortable with that coaching staff and I really like that Denbrock is now the offensive coordinator. He’s recruited me for a very long time and my family really likes him and Coach Kelly.”
“One thing that stood out to me was that he told me that I shouldn’t come to Notre Dame just for football, but to come for the degree and to better my life and future.


Sidenote: His parents love ND.


Only Negativ the new DC didn't go with Kelly to Visit JuJu. They have talked on the phone.

More IM drama: VaTech offered him last night and now IM is about to Cancel his visit with ND this weekend. Looks like ND is out now. This story is so up and down. Every day its something new with this kid. ND coaches are flying down there tonight to make a final push. Alford is going there.


ND is also sending Kelly and Denbrook out to see Quick today. ND is looking to lock one of these guys up tonight or at least have the feeling they are in the lead.


Looks like ND is putting on the full court pressure with both guys and they hope to land either one.


In my opinion Go after Quick. IM is a de commit/transfer waiting to happen.




Back up plan: ND already has a back up plan if both say no to ND. Word is they have a recruit that is committed to another school and is looking to switch to ND but understands that ND needs to wait on these 2 guys. Im guessing its a 3 star recruit because if it was a 4 star or 5 star ND would just move on to this kid right away.

I'm over McKenzie at this point, go to Virginia Tech and good luck. Hopefully Quick and Smith end up with Notre Dame.

Update on Quick Visit with Coaches:


Quick was thrilled about the ND visit. He said the Visit blew him away. He was shocked how the coaches cared about his education and not about football. Coaches mention Famliy first, education 2nd and football 3rd.


Parents loved it.


Very positive Visit for ND.

I read on another site about the MacKenzie situation and had to come over to make sure purguy wasn't hanging from the rafters. Apparently, from what I have heard, he didn't want to take an OV to ND, basically saying he already spent a week there. Alford told him he had to take an official to talk to administrators about grades etc. to even consider his LOI. When MacKenzie grumbled about that, Alford basically walked away from it. Safe bet he won't be at ND next year. Move on to Alexander or Quick now and lets all get on with our lives.

I liked the kids' story and I can tell you from personal experience the neighborhood he lives in is as close to hell as you can get. I hope wherever he lands, he succeeds.

ND pulled the offer, just so you guys know.

More fun facts. Word got out that early in the week he told all the coaches the same Bullcrap that he was signing with them. So he told Ole Miss, Florida and ND that he was coming. LOL

Great stuff. Kid is starting to look bad. He also reached out to South Carolina and VaTech that he was interested in them and if they recruit him he might sign with them. THis is some crazy stuff. How funny would it be if all schools pulled their offer.

I really think its 50/50 chance of landing JuJu. Its really between ND and USC and maybe its more like 51/49 in USC advantage. Its a close race. feeling is he really wants to go to ND but everyone in his ear is saying USC. In the end he goes with his confront zone and picks USC but maybe he pulls a Te'o and picks ND at the last sec. People forget going into the last day Te'o was picking USC until he woke up and said something in his dreams told him to pick ND. Looked like that was the right choice. He almost won the Heisman and he went to a NC game.

I think we (all schools) are doing this to ourselves. We make such a big deal about these kids as we move closer to signing day, that some kids who love the attention do whatever they can to stay in the limelight. Kids like Alex Barr and others who commit early miss out on all the attention. Some like it that way, but some others crave the attention. The guys that show up on NSD with three hats on a table are the perfect example. They probably knew where they were going back in October, but love being on TV.
