No truck or sedan. Needs to seat four. < $50k. Fun to drive.

Heard good things about the Hyundai Genesis coupe but never driven one. If Audi had a two door A4 I'd recommend that without reservation, but you don't strike me as the drop-top type.
Just over $40,000. Seats 4, but might be a pain in the butt if you need carseats for kids. Boss 302.
S4 wagon would rock. Would also want the S1 but stupid americans make that impossible...Heard good things about the Hyundai Genesis coupe but never driven one. If Audi had a two door A4 I'd recommend that without reservation, but you don't strike me as the drop-top type.
Powerful and fast but for some reason doesn't say "fun" to me. I guess I consider fun to mean quick and nimble...

I'm all over the map trying to decide...TT, 1 series, TSX wagon, 370z, Fiat 500...
I second the Genesis. I also like the Infinity G37, can get it in 4door.
edit: totally missed the "no sedan". G37 looks better as a 2 door anyway
...oh...and if you're not into converts the fast Suburu is supposed to be "fun." It's called the BRZ I believe:

An A5?
I would recommend one. My roommate has one and it's very nice. You could also pick up a fairly late model used S5 for that money.
Also consider a 335, even an 09ish e92 M3
