Felix, Paxton and Kuma are all pitching in this 4 game series. Hopefully they can get 3/4. I don't like that the Angels have lost 10 straight. That's bound to turn even for a bad team
Agreed. I'd be happier if their losing streak had ended a couple games back. Mathematically, the odds are not in our favor for the first or second game. I'd settle for a split.

You are either in or out?

Make up your mind?

I'm saying it'll be very close.

Friend of mine asked me last night if the Mariners would make the playoffs and my answer was that they would either get the wild card in a very close race, or miss the playoffs by a game or two.

I agree, they really need to stay hot and truth be told probably get some help from some other teams.

After that Yankee series, I'd have a little trouble agreeing with the thread's title.

They fought hard to get this far over .500 again, don't get me wrong, but is this another June in the making?

I'm not worried about their offense. They ran into two hot Yankee pitchers. Sabathia's performance was unexpected, but the tub of goo still has a few good starts left in him. But the offense will still be what carries the team.

I am worried about the pitching. I don't know if they have enough. Bullpen remains inconsistent. I guess the rotation right now is: Felix, Iwakuma, Paxton, Walker, Miranda. That should be a good rotation, *if they can keep it intact for the remainder of the season.

*if - that's the key word.

This was the first time since mid May that the Mariners have lost two consecutive starts by Iwakuma.

well, the second wave of novelty appears to be wearing off now...If not the lack of bats, like against the Yankees, that damn bullpen is tanking again.

Consistency? What's that?

Forget anything being in our favor ever again. The new owners will have their work cut out for them in trying to rebuild this chickenshit franchise.
