Not if they don't have a QB for 2017, if Romo goes down this year and has to call it a career this team doesnt compete until 2018 maybe later? Drating for the future while Tony's window is now is strange

Let's be honest, the window is probably closed. If Romo goes down, there's no one we could pick that makes us a SB contender. If he is healthy, and Elliott and Morris can duplicate the 1800 yards Murray put up, we are just as good or better than we were 2 years ago at 12-4. Stephen is thinking about the big picture, not just 2016

I think they both get him the attention. He always wants to appear he knows something no one else knows. Just a strange pick. As I said on another thread Elliott is a win now and then Smith is a win when? Don't get it.

Well that was exactly the kind of pick I have been saying we don't need. We don't have the luxury of a stellar defense that we can wait a year to HOPE someone recovers.

best case:
2016 he will miss
2017 he will be a rookie learning on the field
2018 he will start to put it together
2019 he will be a great player and will cost us big money based on hope that he isn't a contract warrior or a flash in the pan.

I agree you need a long term plan, but these gambles just haven't paid off. When was the last time we drafted a hurt guy that ended up being a stud that could avoid the injury bug?

I like Elliott but we are really getting creative to come up with ways he will help this team. If you ask me its all spin. Could be a great runner and of course that helps everything but if I hear anyone else say it's a pick for defense because of how he'll control the game, etc I'll

It's a pick for Offense. Ramsey was a pick for defense and you can say he'd help the offense if you want to spin it
