Did any of you guys honestly want Penny in the first round?

I wanted a good player. I felt it would be a RB. I personally thought they'd go Sony Michel. Penny was my #3 option, but I still like the pick - cause I didn't think there was much value difference between 2-5 (since Barkley was already gonna be gone).

Besides, most Seahawks fans have learned to not go into the draft wanting specific players, the Seahawks draft who they want, not who other people think they should take.

I didn't( Josh Jackson, Isaiah Oliver or Mike Hughes) but seeing tape( watch it. He is a Ferrari on the field) and seeing stats. He looks like a solid pick and a should have been 1st

Something that hasn't been mentioned. After we took Penny AT LEAST 1 team asked for him in a trade.

It is of no consequence. Fans should all just want good players that are enjoyable to root for. If it's a RB, great. If it's a TE, fine. Just want a good Seahawk, and it seems so far like Penny fits the bill well enough.

Everything I'm reading is Seahawks got the worst grade for their pick.
Good news. The best drafts/picks in the current era were also the ones most highly criticized. I think they got an F triple minus for the 2012 draft at the time.

We definitely need someone to help take some of that heat off RW. Hopefully Penny is that guy.

So what's your point?

2011, Kiper gave the Hawks draft a D+ for drafting J. Carpenter, KJ Wright, Richard Sherman, Byron Maxwell, Malcom Smith... Doesn't look like a D+ by any means...

In 2012, the Hawks were given a C- grade for a draft that netted us, Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner, Russell Wilson, Robert Turbin, (5th round pick traded to Buffalo for M. Lynch), Jeremy Lane, JR Sweezy... Today, looks like an A+ right now...

These players were major contributors to our 1st SB win in team history... Not bad for a team that were told they were draft losers in 2011 and 2012...

i guess the plan is to have a horrible OL, but at least our RB was 1st in yards after contact initiated behind the line of scrimmage...

I wanted a RB, but whats the point if our OL is still trash. are they counting on solari fixing all the problems himself?

i did laugh at the raiders taking kolton miller at 15, i heard he was highly highly coveted by tom cable.

They did sign Fluker and Dickinson who are both great run blockers so not sure why you don't think they didn't tend to the OL...

i dont have a lot of faith in fluker and there were multiple OL we could have taken that would have been an improvement. i guess we will see if we trade thomas for that 50 overall pick, might be able to get an OL there.

Pretty big reach. He would have been available in late 2nd or even 3rd round.
Not really. John Schneider reported today that as soon as they made the pick, another team called them asking would they be interested in a trade deal for him. So there you go on that one.

I'd be a lot more worried about the pick if Snuggles liked it ;)

You really want to come to a Seahawks forum and then try to tell us how Schneider works? Really? :L

Yep, we didnt do exactly what you think we should have done, so the only possible conclusion is the plan is to have a horrible OL. There's just no way to expect these guys to do this as well as all the internet GMs could.

its a fair assumption. the homers on here are praising his ability to get yards after contact behind the LOS, this must be one of the big reasons they liked him so much. is it wrong to then assume our OL is going to be garbage yet again?

that being said, i love solari and think he is one of the best OL coaches in the league possibly ever. but that doesnt mean we can continue to disregard the talent.
