You know what would make it really cool is if they put it in Charlotte or Nashville or somethingAny TB fans out here? Plans have been out for a while... Not sure if they will go through this time...
My only request would be one low scaffold crossing the outfield. (The only good part about their current shitty ball park are the fly balls bouncing off the ceiling - still in play.)

Not sure why anyone invests in pro sports in this market.
You sure? Despite limited payroll the Rays have had one of the better run organizations in the league. Yet their stadium is always empty. North Florida is a rotten sports market. Floribama is a college communitythey deserve it, good for them
I think at this point, I have to agree. At least for baseball. MLB seems determined to make this market work, however, while also being determined to let the Athletics leave Oakland. You sure? I think it is because FL is a lot of transplants...so they pull for the team they grew up watching. It’s weird to me that the Florida teams struggle to attract fans - because Florida has a lot of baseball fans. Maybe it’s because the Marlins are a poorly run franchise with a bunch of clowns in the front office while the Rays stadium is one of MLB’s worst - no excuse for the balls hitting the roof of it.
Transplants. They like other teams. They were raised in a family where the older generations followed other teams as well. It’s weird to me that the Florida teams struggle to attract fans - because Florida has a lot of baseball fans. I always thought the same thing about DC...it's a transplant city and the Nats would never get a fanbase...but I was wrong.Transplants. They like other teams. They were raised in a family where the older generations followed other teams as well.
For sports, much of the south is college > pro.
There are a ton of fans in the NOVA/Southern MD area who were tired of the Orioles for whatever reason, and they adopted the Nats because they were the new local team, or they stopped being Orioles fans.I always thought the same thing about DC...it's a transplant city and the Nats would never get a fanbase...but I was wrong.
I had always read that Northern Virginia was baseball crazed.I always thought the same thing about DC...it's a transplant city and the Nats would never get a fanbase...but I was wrong.
oh I know...I am in SoMDThere are a ton of fans in the NOVA/Southern MD area who were tired of the Orioles for whatever reason, and they adopted the Nats because they were the new local team, or they stopped being Orioles fans.
It’s the reason that Peter Angelos fought so hard to keep them out of there, and negotiated that awful deal for the Nats in regards to MASN that is now preventing the Lerner family from actually selling the team.
they are...there is a big crowd there. It was a good place to put a team.I had always read that Northern Virginia was baseball crazed.
did,nt charlotte put down a football stadium a month or two back? You know what would make it really cool is if they put it in Charlotte or Nashville or something
I’ve been to the Trop. As bad as the innards are, the location just past the bridge might be the the worst thing about it. I’m not too familiar with the downtown area where it’s going to end up (hopefully for my coworkers who do follow the team and score me tickets whenever I’m in Tampa) but it HAS to be a better location than the current one.Any TB fans out here?
