If this story is as bad as it sounds, I'm going to want McDonald released. However, we don't know everything yet so I'm trying to reserve judgement for now.

This why that new rule is stupid as there is a story behind every violence report and due process of the law, The NFL will not bother with this and make a quick judgement....six weeks as per the new rule.

I imagine that Goodell will wait for the disposition of the criminal case before he hands out punishment. He waited until after Ray Rice was sentenced. Same thing with Aldon Smith.

Playing football for hundreds of thousands and in some case millions is a privilege. If they can't be decent human beings then they should find themselves working on the back of a garbage truck.

Just like Aldon Smith. The whole reason for the gun charges was he and his teammates decided to throw a party and allow anyone attend for a price. How incredibly stupid. I remember high school and my early 20's. If you threw a party, spread the word everywhere, and allowed anyone in, you were setting yourself up for trouble. If you are a professional ball player, that is ten times worse as everyone is going to be drawn to the party, including real bad elements

I'm not saying it's right, but if Ray Rice is a first time offender and got 2 games after proven guilty, then Ray McDonald should get the same.

If Goodell screwed up and let Rice off the hook easy then he should be consistent. Otherwise screw him too.

I think it may be a little late. The purge on dv ended 4 days ago, we will be getting 3 starters back in about the middle of the season!! Go 49ers!!

McDonald apparently was involved in an altercation with his fiancee, whom a police source said is 10 weeks pregnant. When she showed police bruising on her neck and arms, McDonald was arrested without incident. News of the arrest first was reported by NBC Bay Area.

Pretty much anytime the police show up for domestic violence it's the male getting arrested regardless of what happened.

My Uncle's ex-wife called the cops on him after he shoved her to the floor because she busted a coffee mug over his head while drunk. The police arrived and arrested him despite the gash on his head that required stitches and her without a bruise. They ended up getting divorced over it, but he had to do months of counseling to even be able to see his son because of the arrest. It was pretty much BS from my point of my view. I couldn't understand why the courts would allow the mom custody when she hadn't collected a pay check in over 20 years and was a heavy alcoholic. I mean like drunk enough 24/7 to not even know if the son was home or not most days.

The bruises on his wife is likely not a good sign, but also does not mean anything violent happened. Some people do bruise easily after all. It could have been argument between two people that had to much to drink, and he ended up grabbing her to hard.

As long as she does not press charges over it I would think he is ok outside of a 2 game suspension for getting arrested.
