Ravens Tray Walker in critical condition

NBC Miami reports Ravens CB Tray Walker is in critical condition following a motorcycle accident.

"Oh my God. This is devastating news," coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. "Our prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight." The No. 136 overall pick of last year's draft, Walker is a Miami native. Walker was active for eight games as a rookie, primarily playing on special teams.

Interesting...Not saying ANYTHING about the Pats at all(this has NOTHING to do with their Organization), but it is odd that whoever he was with took off like that. Yes, I'd say the same if it was a Rams player with them...

During sports on the Baltimore radio station I listen to on the way to work they said Walker wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

When I first read the story and saw it was a dirt bike, I thought he was off road having fun, now that I see he was on the road, at night, with no ligjts, I'm thinking he and his friends were out there doing dumb bike tricks, without regard for any one else on the street. That may explain why his "friend" fled the scene.

That said, it the reports are true, no lights, no helmet...he was living on the edge...without knowing anymore details the SUV driver probably feels like shit.

Teams need to start putting dumbass clauses in players contracts, if you're going to do anything stupid you're doing it at your own risk and teams don't have to pay you if you get hurt.

Did just some quick research on this and the only person I can see who played football with Walker at any point that ended up in New England was Marcus Forston. Forston, who went to the same high school as Walker, only played for the Pat's for two years though and isn't on the team any longer.

Walker's high school though is a major source of football talent. Teddy Bridgewater and Amari Cooper all played with Walker. I was guessing it was the same high school because obviously Walker is back in Miami visiting his old haunts.

Sadly, from what you read It seems there is a strong chance he won't be getting paid by them for long...My point was that right now this is about a guy that could be dying, not an athlete that is going to be injured and collecting a salary for a poor choice. Perhaps some regard for human life should take precedence right now...

It never is, so why not now? These guys should look back at the history of some former NFL players and see just what can happen:

Jerome Brown; the potential to be on of the greatest DT in the league with Reggie playing next to him

Derrick Thomas; one of the best players in the league at the time of his crash

Jerry Brown; the kid from the Cowboys

Thomas Howard: Atlanta Falcons


The list goes on and on....

Do we know for a fact yet that a Pats player (former or not) was with him at the time of the crash?

And if he was, why the hell didn't he stick around to provide insight on the situation?
