So, per twitter, Bryant McKinnie has been released.

He was expected to start at LT, allowing Oher (who was abysmal at LT last year) to move to RT and having their rookie guard start at LG over Williams.

This forces Oher back to LT the week of a game, moves the rookie guard to RT, and pushes Williams (who was beat out by a rookie) to start at LG.

This could lead to some issues for the Ravens starting OL.

Curious that this move is made the week of the 1st game and not before, but apparently the Ravens asked McKinnie to restructure his deal. He balked. They cut him.

He re-signed. The twitter message was a negotiating ploy.

Whether he plays or not, the Ravens line has some issues.... Seems to be a problem with the AFC-N! You know you're in trouble when you replace an All-Pro with an injured and old Bobbie Williams. I think our D-line can give them some real problems. The big issue for us is whether we can get a good performance from our secondary.

You're right Doug -- This game might be boring.

They originally wanted him to take a $1.6 million cut. He ended up taking a $1 million cut which he gets back if he meets playing time incentives. So he came out pretty well.

Ravens applied perfect squeeze play to McKinnie | ProFootballTalk

Is this really the guy that you want protecting the best quarterback in the NFL? I can't imagine he is motivated to play football.... He's been a mess the entire offseason and now he just learned he'll be making less money. Freddie better grow eyes in the back of his head.

Ravens have him by the shorthairs I think...He has an incentive clause, that if he plays in 50% of the offensive plays for the Ravens, that his salary escalates to the origional 3.2 mil.

He is not starting Monday

I'm surprised they didn't just cut him.......he obviously didn't show up in shape, and shows little desire to excel any more....he's old and fat and would probably retire if he wasn't in such debt.....
