Rather have Rogers back than Brown because

So neither one of these guys are officially 49ers any more. The only way I'd want either one to re-sign is if they signed a 1-year deal. But I'd rather have Rogers than Brown. They're both probably about the same quality QB right now, but letting Brown walk helps the compensatory pick formula. The Niners get nothing for losing Rogers.

I'd guess neither will be back, but you never know.

Let both walk and like you have always dreamed bring in Cromartie for like 8 million a year and resign Wright for like 1 million. Then add a few CBs from the draft.

Niners get about $6 mil of additional cap space. Brown will get paid. Look what the Packers paid Shields. Brown may not get as much, but some team will pay him.

Rogers needed to be replaced, even dating back to last years offseason...Brown is a nice player and I hope they bring him back at the right price.

Well Cromartie had a hip injury last year, so his price is probably lower than that. I wouldn't be surprised if he signed for 5 or 6.

Cromartie won't get 5 or 6. He's gonna get Asomugha'ed this year. Who wants to pay that much money for a 30 year old CB with a bum hip that has always relied on his speed?

I really wouldn't mind though if it was the 49ers Asomugha'ing him.

I'm not sure what you mean by Asomugha'ing him.

Obviously if his hip is still bothering him he's not going to get very much money at all. But when he's healthy he's still one of the best cover CBs in the NFL. If he clears medical tests I don't think 5 or 6 million is an unrealistic expectation.

Probably 1 year non guarantee contract.

Oh, well that's exactly what I'd want to do with Cromartie. He'd have the incentive to play well, and it'd give the Niners time to develop any rookie CB they might draft this year.

Good riddance to Rogers. But I'd really like Brown back.

Why the love for Brown & the hate for Rogers? Their abilities are pretty similar at this point.

I agree. They probably are about the same as quarterbacks. As Harbaugh says, low hanging fruit. Besides, you might have been talking about the QB of the defense.

I think Brown is much better. He seems to hold up and not get burned as near as much. Rogers has had some rough games and has declined a lot the last two years where as Brown seems to not have declined and might have a yr or maybe two left. (Just to restate it, I dont want Brown back either)

Additionally, the 4th down TD throw-catch that Rogers have up against the Seahawks was just flat out pathetic. He's damn near on Kyle Williams level for that shit play in my mind.

From what I've seen, Brown looks significantly better than Rogers. I don't have any data to back that up though.
