Wrapping Up

Not much drama. I led wire-to-wire, mostly on the strength of Peyton and Charles as my top picks, having Forte high, being lower than most on AP, Martin, Spiller, Morris, SJAX and Ridley, and leaving Vick out altogether.

Interestingly, Week 6 was everyone's high point, and then we all started a gradual decline. Looks like things started to match collective expectations and then fall apart as big names got hurt and no-names made a splash.

We all got slaughtered on the RBs. Martin/Foster/Rice/Spiller/TRich gave everybody between -350 and -420. Not good for anyone.

Better here. This is why I think QBs are a better fantasy investment than they are usually given credit for - more reliable.

Thanks, all, for participating - special shout out to Bunkamania (whoever that is) for a solid showing. And Joe was wrong a lot at the beginning - including his statement "no way I don't finish last." Quite a comeback to respectability.

Thanks for running the game and I look forward to participating next year if you choose to do it again.

Gotta give you props Monkey - not only did you have Peyton in the top, you also said he'd throw 50 TDs. Very nice. (But you shoulda, you know, drafted him....)

Hey Will, thanks for everything. I know this had to be one hell of a lot of work and you did an awesome job! Can you please just do one more thing? Sign up for the playoff challenge! It's still this season so you don't have to retire quite yet!

WOW - no wonder you are feeling burnt out Will. Didn't participate in this one, but does anyone else see a bit of irony that the guy who won the MBBRL was dead last in this ??? ...........

Yeah... only Garcon and McCoy made it from Tlance's draft to his starting roster for the championship game. Trading Demaryius, Cameron, MJD and DWill for Charles, Witten and trade filler was a classic good-for-both-teams trade. The 1-2 punch of McCoy/Charles, a resurgent Witten and smart use of Cooper took him there. He may have had a lot wrong at the start, but mid-season adjustments are crucial and he made good ones.

I had 6 original draftees in my final 9 starting spots - my mid-season adjustments were pretty weak and my team fell apart late. A solid first half faded as I limped into the playoffs and bowed out early.

So we have an answer to the old question "how important is the draft" - you can secure a playoff spot with a spot-on draft, but you can also get there despite a terrible draft.

You know... I might run it again... it's the kind of thing where it's not the end of the world if you skip a week. Maybe I can share the spreadsheet with some other data masochist.

Love the Community Service thought, Milk. Looks like you and Ray Rice have figured out how to recover from a fall.
