Rough week all around as top picks keep on sliding. Bunkamania had a worse week than most - and some of the blame goes to having Peyton at #3. Bandit gets a little distance.

As a group we're not looking good. Only three of us better than ADP and the CBS guys.

Results Through Week 14

Bandit holds firm while Bunkamania continues to slide, dragged down by high picks on Peyton (3), Romo (4), Big Ben (5), Ryan (6) and Flacco (11).

By comparison, our new QB leader Ram had Big Ben at 3 and Ryan at 6, but made up for it with Wilson at 4 and Cam at 5, and had Peyton down at 9 and Flacco at 20.

Final Rankings

Holidays and traveling made me a Bad Rankingskeeper this month, and also screwed up the cool graph because I don't have numbers through Week 16. So here are just the totals:

Screen%20Shot%202016-01-06%20at%209.27.19%20AM_zpstkbgx4sd.png

What's not surprising is that Bandit kept his lead. What is surprising is that ADP passed everybody else except CBS's Jamey Eisenberg. So congratulations to Bandit (who also had a secretly great year in the MBBRL A league). For everyone else, back to the drawing board.

Bad year all around for FF prognosticators.

I'll post the full ranking sheets a bit later.

(Bandit and Steelers got asterisks for late QB/RB entry, which didn't have Foster. As a penalty, they got one and a half times the average score for Foster (which were all negative), which docked them 5.75 points. Sam was similarly docked for late WR entry, getting 1.5 times the average negative score for Jordy and Kelvin Benjamin.)

As the defending "champ", I gotta say. ..I suck at this
The irony for me is that ranking the QB was my best of the 3 positions. If only that translated to my fantasy teams where QB was one of my weakest positions.

2015 QB Ranking Results

QB rankings to mull over.

Screen%20Shot%202016-01-10%20at%2011.57.41%20PM_zpsz42zzhdu.png

As a reminder, the score is that player's points per week, minus the difference between his PPW and the PPW of the player ranked at that position (so if you get it right you get a player's full PPW). Every QB beyond the top 24 is just listed as 25, because after that it doesn't affect the scoring.

Cam, Brady, Wilson, Bortles and Palmer were the top 5 QBs. 8 of us didn't have any of them in our top 5. Only three had more than one - Monkey, Ram and Trudem.

Best pick is those who correctly had Wilson pegged at #3. Worst pick (excluding Alpha Boy) was those who had Romo at #3.

The maximum possible was 478.85. A reasonable minimum (taking all the QBs picked by at least five of us and putting them in the worst possible order) would have been 194.25. So the range is essentially from 194.25 to 478.85. Monkey won by getting essentially 100.90 out of a possible 284.60.

Rotten year for predicting QBs. #10, #12 and #16 weren't picked by anyone, and three QBs who finished out of the top 24 were picked in the top 14 by everyone.

Usually QB is more reliable than that.

My question is... what did we all miss with Cam? He was 2 points a week better than Brady, 3 points a week better than Wilson, and 4+ points a week better than everybody else. And most of us ranked him before he lost Benjamin.

Let's make this official.
Milk has agreed to monitor the Annual Rankings Game.
It's simple. Just provide your top 24 QB, 36 RB and 36 WR.
But your list is based on how they finish. (Not how you would draft them.)
In keeping with tradition, the lists are generally due the first Monday in August.
That's up to Milk if he wants to honor that date since it will be a lot of work to compile everyone's submissions.
Here's the gist of the scoring:
i will keep it simple... the point is fantasy rankings...
i would use 4 different scoring systems
  1. #of correct players in pool- if we are ranking 32 RBs, i want to know how many players you picked that were in the top 32- order does not matter...
  2. differential- player ranked 32 but you ranked him 1 would be a differential of 31. we use absolute values, and the maximum score is one number over the the number of players to rank
  3. how many picks you got exactly right
  4. how many top 5 correct, top 10, top 20....
then i take the 4 scores and combine them somehow...
@TREFF @Sam Sportboy @TKOSpikes @Chef99 @Yellow Fuzzies @Bunkamania @canesandfinsfanatic @Ram Tough @SmokingMonkey @The Foot @tlance @HaroldSeattle @Trudem @Stomp @SteelersPride
...and anyone else?

@MilkSpiller22 also as a reminder, Wil used to also include ADP from that date, as well as ESPN and CBS rankings. I guess it's up to you if you want to include them too. Personally, I'd like to see FantasyPros' ECR on the list.

@wilwhite

Just wondering, the expert rankings you took were they all standard leagues?? I know experts now generally all play PPR, and many now only make one ranking list....

Also, do we want to go to PPR or stay standard??
