I'd say he had flashes. He had the fewest starts and the fewest number of passes, but the most passing TD's and had zero interceptions.

People are loving Lewerke who finished with a 124 passer rating. Peters had a 142 rating.

I feel more uncomfortable about anointing Patterson a top 6 QB than saying Peters proved he could be a starter.

He played against Rutgers, Maryland, Minnesota, South Carolina, and Wisconsin. So he played one remotely decent team and only lasted three quarters against Wisconsin. Only attempted more than 18 passes once, against SCarolina. He missed three of the best defenses they played while Lewerke had to play against Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan’s defense. I’m not even high on Lewerke but come on.

I'll say this, we were beating Wisconsin until he went down. I think he could be a legitimate starter. He was only a sophomore last year and split time all year with Speight and Okorn during camp.

Yes, he COULD be a legitimate starter, but he sure as hell did not PROVE he was one last year.

Like @7Samurai13 said negative stats from bowl games don't count. I didn't realize that. For some reason I thought all #'s from bowl games counted towards stats for the entire season.

Yeah I noticed this the other day too. For some reason ESPN hasn't updated all the bowl stats to the teams and players... because ESPN has our kicker from last season going 15/19 on FGs, and I know that's a lie. So I checked his personal stats and sure enough, it listed more than 4 missed FGs for the season.
