and whose call is it on what constitutes the best team? is it ours or is it who the ownership and GM have designated to make those decisions? you say the evidence is damning and maybe it is and maybe it isn't. i understand and probably agree with 85-90% of what you say but do you actually believe that they are going to change horses in the middle of the race?

How are the numbers I've posted not obvious that Young is hurting this team by being deployed every day in the manner he is. If you honestly don't see that then you're baseball iq is very low indeed.

It's not about changing horses in mid stream. After all, they are keeping MY happy and in the game by changing horses on a daily basis. They are actually using a guy who sucks and hasn't missed a game in two months to "rest" guys who are actually better players. I'll be the first to cut Wash some slack, but there is no way in hell this makes any sense.
If the last two years are any indication then get ready for MY to suck even more since he has closed shop the last two years when Septemeber and pennant race get mentioned.

Grant was saying this past spring that the Rangers should extend Young at something like 7 or 8 million a year. Jon Daniels is laying in the weeds waiting for the day that Young's agent comes to talk extension.

How about this ... JD proposes at end of 2012 to redo MY's deal 2 for $16mil with a option year @ $8mil if it vests across 2013 and 2014.

This way the $16mil in the current deal pays for 2013 and 2014. And what are the odds he vests for the option year?

The thing is ... the only way he gets to 3000 hits is to play for another 3 years ... and if he doesn't agree to the restructure he's only got one year left.
