the rangers need to upgrade the utility player role. snyder and gonzalez are complete spares. snyder had one great game to puff up his stats. other than that, he is pretty useless

just an absolutely pathetic series offensively for the rangers. maybe they should be reminded the all star break didnt start this week.

0-4 since the announcement of 7 rangers made the all stars. thats kind of weird

I'll give an upgrade over Snyder might be nice but you're lucky to get offense out of your starting SS much less your backup SS, so Gonzalez is not the problem,

good luck finding a person to play backup SS that's solid defensively and has a solid bat, if they had those qualities they would be starting on most ML squads

Rangers are still leading in every major offensive category. But somehow the offense isn't what is was last year. We have guys like Young, Napoli and Kinsler who are way down from last year. Rangers have explosive games where they are theor old selves. but not consistently. Hopefully after the All Star Break the Team Picks it up Offensively. It seems the Rangers are wanting October to be here already. But if there not careful they will be watching October at home.

It wasn't't just Michael:p:p:thumb::thumb:. Everyone on the team was pathetic at the plate

Would it be OK if we just narrowed it down to only players making 16 million and hitting .265? :happyshake

I think it was a comment implying continuing impotent hitting from young

the entire team has been impotent over the last week or 2 so lambasting one player out of 12 makes no sense.

in yesterday's game, kinsler, andrus, hamilton, beltre, young & cruz were a combined 2 for 18 a pathetic .111 batting average.

as a TEAM, the offense has been pathetic, so why single out 1 player?

The more disgusting thing to me is Harry pitched his guts out and got the fucking loss. He deserved better than that.

The offense has been more inconsistent than pathetic and if all you can do to justify MY (.265 3 hrs) hitting 5th in the line up is paint the rest of the team in the same light then you are lost.
Either justify MY's numbers as a 5th place hitter or stay out of the discusssion and stick to cutting and pasting MLB rumors. Talking about last year, clubhouse worth, a posters personal feelings, etc. adds nothing to your argument.

I missed the game. I didn't know it was a day game but with the Rangers only getting 2 hits I'm glad I did what I did instead.

all you can do is hijack every thread with your Young hatred. this thread is about the Rangers vs. Sox series which if i'm not mistaken was played by the entire 25-man roster and not by one player.

instead of talking about the total lack of offensive support that Harrison got yesterday, you choose to continue with your one-player rant. who do you put in at #5 in place of Young? Cruz, who's hitting .238 over the last week. Napoli, who's hitting .118 over the last week. Torrealba at .214. Murphy at .250. suppose we follow your biased thinking and bench Young that means Napoli at 1st, Torrealba behind the plate and then who do you DH?

Why were Young and Beltre flip-flopped this year? The offense worked well with Young at #4 last year. I thought it was one of Washington's better strategies last year.

:L Beltre has always been the cleanup hitter since coming here. Young was only #4 when Beltre went down with the hamstring injury.

Actuallyyyyy..... Young finished out the season/playoffs as the #4 hitter.
Even when Beltre came back.

He was actually in the #4 slot more than Beltre was.

Sorry Scotty, but I'm not going to try and hang my hat on one game. I never said anything about benching Young. Just that he shouldn't be hitting in the #5 spot which has nothing to do with the last week. His 3 hrs and .265 average are for the year. I could live with the average if he had a little more pop in his bat, which he doesn't. You need a little more muscle than Young provides in the 5 spot and I will post that opinion wherever the hell I want to and if you have a problem with that then make a case for Young's ability or drop him to the 7 or 8 spot, where he belongs.

I think last night was part of a process Wash is using to better align the offense. Cruz responded well to the move to #5 ... but if Young does not respond in #6 spot I could forsee TEX moving him down to #7.

Might make sense to limit Hamilton to DH and play Murphy in LF as the standard alignment at #6. When Moreland returns he and Young/Snyder/Napoli would platoon at 1b at #7 ... with the catching spot at #8 and CF platoon hitting #9.

In any case ... might have been tough for Wash to move Young to #7 outright ... and is giving him the chance to show he can perform at #6 or be moved down to #7 (which is where the 1b platoon would hit anyway).
