I was thinking in terms of fWAR. He has quite a bit of work to catch Raffy let alone Pudge.

Imo Beltre is every bit as good at his position in his prime as pudge was at his.

Not sure I can take it that far, personally. IMO Pudge did things behind the plate that arguably no one ever did. That being said, if I'm starting a team and I'm picking between Prime Beltre and Prime Pudge, I most likely pick Beltre.
