No More "Bullpen Failure" - maybe
The Rangers are up against a very tough opponent in the Yankees. Even though all the pitching matchups favor the Rangers, the Yankees are up close to the top of MLB in hitting and the Rangers aren't far from the bottom.
With no Seager and no Carter the Rangers offense doesn't seem to be much of a force to be reckoned with. Pederson only has 3 hits in his last 25 att bats. Semien is 4 for his last 27. Smith is 5-26. Adolis is 5-25. Pillar is 4-27. Langford is 6-27. Burger is 8-24. Jung is 9-25. Haggerty is 5-18.
I had heard a few days ago that the Rangers had had the toughest schedule in baseball. I checked the remaining strength of schedule and the Rangers are right in the middle of the pack tied for 15th place. Seattle has a weaker remaining strength of schedule, along with the Astros. The Astros currently have th the easiest remaining schedule baseball.
It still remains to be seen if the Rangers will be buyers or sellers at the deadline.
