Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, who has been on the injured list for over a month thanks to a forearm strain, has recently been expected to rejoin the Texas rotation during their upcoming series against the Mets, which begins tomorrow. As noted by Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, however, that won’t come to fruition after Eovaldi felt some discomfort in his side during a bullpen session on Thursday. The new plan is for Eovaldi to partake in another bullpen session on Tuesday before the club determines whether he’ll need a rehab assignment or can directly return to the club’s pitching staff.
From Evan Grant:

“There’s little tightness, that’s all,” manager Bruce Bochy said. “So we are just backing off a little bit so this doesn’t get worse. We don’t want to have a setback.”

Rosters can be expanded by three players on Sept. 1.

Ski should have bunt'd
This is again another troubling example of Bochy just not thinking things through. 1st and 2nd, no outs in extras, an average hitter up… why wouldn’t you bunt there?!?! It would give you 2nd and 3rd and open up so many options. Sac fly- run. Hit- two runs. Ground ball- likely run.

Garcia’s double play grounder would have been a run-scoring ground out.

When you wait until you already have a strike and then you make a terrible bunt attempt not once but twice you’re pathetic

I was earlier in the season… not so much from a strategic perspective, but rather he seemed to have the team playing as one and finding ways to win.

But over the last month or so, he has made numerous ridiculous gaffes that honestly have me questioning his acuity. It’s very basic stuff he’s botching.

Wow. Gallo is such a nice guy, so I hate to see what’s become of him. Glad he just did that, though. Boneheaded to the extreme.

Very simplistic….my 13 year old may challenge him for a better acumen
