I think until Carter gets a few hits off of lefty relievers, they aren't going to trust him against leftys. Most likely, not until next year.

I expect Carter to start tomorrow against Detmers. He is a lefty with reverse splits...lefties hit .300 against him while rhb hit only .238

Wish Carter was in the line up to see how he would fair against LHP but at this time I understand why he is not. Bochy has to play the percentages.

I would still play him. They’re not going know if he can unless he faces left handed pitching on a regular basis.

Yeah, the best way for someone to not ever hit leftys is to not face them.

He will do that in certain situations. I think if Huff was up here, Lowe would still play despite Huff"s OPS this year against leftys being 181 points higher than Lowe's.
