The Rangers had considered keeping Pruitt, a non-roster invitee, at the end of spring training, but opted to give Burke more opportunity work through his struggles. Pruitt, who was born in Plano and went to high school in The Woodlands, made 77 appearances over the last two years with Oakland, compiling a 3.65 ERA in 103.1 innings.

Pruitt has pitched 4.2 innings for Round Rock this season, allowing one walk, five hits and two runs.

I guess for the same reason Leody is still on the team. Both are bad.

Evan you cannot stand there and take that pitch and allow the umpire to call you out. You have been playing baseball way too long for that. That is not good baseball
