Not going negative DT. From a philosophical standpoint, I just don't like trading a top pitching prospect for a position player. That's all. Pitching is so paramount as we all know and since the Rangers haven't developed a great deal of SP over the years I was really looking forward to Ortiz.

We haven't been able to develop a catcher since Pudge. We can't develop a pitcher to save our lives either. I'm not too worried about this.

It's a good thing we have an off day with all of the moving parts. The team won't be playing short handed tonight.

ya know, a league wide day off for the trade deadline would be a cool idea!

A ton of Tribe fans on Twitter are absolutely bitter about the Rangers and Lucroy. They're wishing nothing but the worst for us going forward in the postseason.

I think that is just the natural disposition for CLE baseball fans.

First order of business, get Lucroy the best concussion preventing helmut to protect that noggin

And I sit him down and tell him "you perform at the plate and help us win it all, and we will make sure that option isn't an issue".

That's a great idea.

Right after the league goes back to a 154 game schedule, this should be one of the days off.

worst news of the day for this poster? Khris Davis didn't get moved to an NL team that we are unlikely to see in the WS.

Hypothetical I just read on Reddit:

Does Jeffress make more sense as the closer, with Dyson going back to the 8th?

And let's not overlook how super it is that JD keeps Profar Maz and Gallo while giving us the best trade day in a long long time. I am delighted.

I think that is just the natural disposition for CLE baseball fans.

I get the little animosity but no rules were broken. This is what the players and league signed up in the cba for and Lucroy had the power to do as he saw fit according to the rules and he exercised it and who can blame him. It resulted in the Rangers being opportunistic and they capitalized.

You all should know I'm no fan of Dyson, but I say you keep him there until he actually falters.

I sincerely believe that winning our FIRST WS is so paramount, JD is going all in for all the right reasons. Had we beat the fucking Cardinals like we should have, a lot of moves over the past 2 years might not seem nearly as imperative or important as they do now.

Getting that 1st one is so hard and oh so important.

I just wonder what our offer before the CLE trade/fail was vs what we ended with.
