Not according to Will the Thrill and probably others. What do you say?

I mostly mean this season. He doesn't have any business being on the 25 man for 2016. Has way too much to work on, and it was unfortunate the defense went full moron in the first. Almost three straight ground balls that were fielded but no out was recorded...

No one will dispute that.

Most of you may already know the International signings. From Lone Star Ball:

The Texas Rangers have signed David Garcia, a 16 year old Venezuelan catcher, today, the first day you can sign newly eligible J-2 players.

We wrote about Garcia, who has been rumored for a while to land with Texas, here a few weeks ago. Garcia is apparently getting an $800,000 signing bonus. With the Rangers having an international pool this year of $2,157,400, that leaves them a little under $1.5 million for additional signings. Teams can also trade for additional bonus slots from other teams.

Garcia was ranked #7 in this year's J-2 class by Baseball America. A J-2 class refers to the July 2 date of each year when 16 year old international free agents become eligible to sign professional contracts.

Texas usually uses most of its pool, so I would expect there to be more signings coming down the pike, though Garcia is, by most indications, the jewel of the team's signing class this year.

UPDATE -- Per Ben Badler, the Rangers have also signed outfielder Danny Drullard out of the Dominican Republic for $100,000.

UPDATE -- The Rangers have also signed, per Jeff Wilson, outfielder Daniel Quinceo, of Colombia, and outfielder Angel Aponte, IF Emir Velasquez, and SS Jember Gutierrez, all of Venezuela.

I went to sleep after the first Kepler homer. I am sure glad that I did. Ramos got exposed against the worst lineup in the AL...that's just demoralizing.

The Angels score ELEVEN runs in the seventh, and now lead the Red Sox 20-1 at Fenway! on.si.com/29D1hHR

We're not the only team having a bad day, I guess.

Didn't see your post there, DT

Having a really good year, and Melvin Upton too, wouldn't have seen the Upton one coming though

It does, and that's why I don't advocate doing anything rash. Chi Chi not being allowed to start games is just wise though.

I didnt think Cheech should have been the one to get the call to start in the first place. He wasn't really having much success at RR. Today wasnt all his fault but he wasn't good in the last start either. Don't need to make any rash decisions based on today, lets just let this week play out.

Just need to keep winning our division games after the break and take care of our business that way

He has regressed this year at both this level and the AAA level. He has a whole lot to work on. Right now I would trust Sadzeck, Payano, and Mendez from Frisco more than I would trust Chi Chi to start a game for us. I think we are going to see either Roth or Sadzeck soon.

Roth is likely to be called up for depth. So we will see.

What's the latest on Holland? Isn't his 15 day DL stent almost up?

Rangers' Yu Darvish: To begin rehab assignment Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Darvish (shoulder) will make a rehab start at Double-A Frisco on Monday.

After he threw a successful sim-game on Wednesday, the Rangers feel comfortable with sending Darvish out to begin his rehab assignment Monday. He's expected to throw roughly 45 pitches or three innings during his outing at Double-A Frisco. Given that pitch count, he'll likely need at least one more rehab start to push his pitch count up towards a more normal workload.

Rangers' Keone Kela: Set to begin rehab assignment Monday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
Kela (elbow) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Kela underwent surgery in April to remove bone spurs from his elbow and has made significant progress in his rehab since then. The 23-year-old began throwing long-toss in early June, progressed to bullpen sessions in recent weeks, and is now set to begin a rehab assignment. The righty, who emerged in 2015 as one of the Rangers most reliable relievers (2.39 ERA over 60.1 innings), will now head to Triple-A Round Rock for several tune ups before a possible recall in mid-July.
