Some people are idiots. Any success by the Astros makes it harder for the rangers to have future success.

Here's why I have little respect for most Astros fans, I tried explaining to them that when they went full rebuild, that they were doing things the right way, trading away any pieces with value, acquiring prospects, and limit your activity in free agency to the cheaper guys

All because the Astros had some success but as the team got older, saddled with contracts they didn't want, got stuck in the doldrums of .500 ball and the wild card aspirations, they couldn't see the forest for the trees

Sounds a lot like the current Rangers, we just need to start hitting on players in the draft

Before the success of the Oates managed teams and even more so the 2011 and 2012 seasons the fans would cheer more for the dot race than anything that happened during the game. Their knowledge of the game was very limited partly because it was such a football driven state. I will admit that those successful seasons helped educate many fans in the area but the rest couldn't tell you the first thing about the current Ranger team as they are fair weathered fans. So those are the fans that may say I will root for the other Texas team.
