I feel like the rangers should just go ahead and pay the man, but the logical side of me knows this is the worst time to do so. Lots of games he still needs to play in to prove he's worth it.

How was Hamilton a 4th round pick in fantasy baseball? It makes me feel like an idiot, even with him on my team.

His tendency to miss 40 games a year really drives down his draft stock.

I just wish Josh Hamilton was open to listening to reason. He wants to be here we want him here but we can't just back the truck full of cash up to the house of a guy with his kind of injury history. I really hope we can get a deal that is in the best interest of both the player and the team.

They better be careful or they're going to wear Ross out. He's pitched a ton so far. Makes no sense to bring him in here.

Don't know what's wrong with your league...I think he went in the 2nd in ours but should've gone in the top 5 overall.

I really hope we can squeek out 4 more hits to give Josh one more AB. I really wish I was at home watching this or would have at least recorded it.

No way I would take josh as my number one pick.

The problem with this is, someone is going to if we don't. Yea, he gets hurt but the guy puts up numbers in 130-140 games that most of the greats do in 150-155. It's just hard to not pay him as the top 2 or 3 in the game with the the last 3 seasons he's had here. Damn, what'd he play in last yr, 125 games and he still hit 25 and almost drove in 100. I say take your chances. We're looking at a once in a lifetime player in the prime of his career

been saying that for a long time about his numbers but some on this board would gotten rid of him during the off-season. how many players average 25+ homers and 95+ RBI's a season?

But you can't pay him for 150 games worth if he only averages 125, there has to be some sort of compromise in there, I'd pay him 30 million in a season he played 150 games, but I'd only be willing to pay him 15 million for 100 games or less

Y'all are crazy if you think someone is going to pony up big bucks with someone of his track record without someway of protecting themselves, who even has the means to do so? Even the Yankees have been desperately trying to scale back payroll for years

I believe both parties will get something worked out that is somewhere in the middle of what both parties want. My guess is it may be a little more than what Texas wants to pay with a little protective language, and a little less than what josh has in mind.
