The next question the Rangers will have to handle is the potential impact on Joey Gallo. Gallo is currently playing only third base at Triple-A Round Rock. He did play the outfield some last year and does seem to profile as a potential first base fit. Should the need arise to acquire another front-line pitcher, having Beltre signed could make Gallo a huge trade piece.

Leave him at third till July, then start working him in at first. We'll need him there next year.

Less in the way of 1b talent, maybe Rua
