Let's keep taking care of business at the house.
Perez was as good as ever.Missed today's game (wife had me running all over Dallas hunting tile WTH?), and just turned on the replay that is in the 8th. Seems Perez reversed that last start vs. the Yankees. Nice to see, hope we have more starts like today from him down the stretch. Could have swept SF , if not for last nights debauchle. WOW!
I have been about as anti-Dave Magadan as anyone, but I have to give him props for this. Of course the article doesn't actually say it was Magadan's idea. Maybe I will have to ask Evan about that if he does a chat session this week.
Despite going 0 for 4 with a double play grounder on Sunday, SS Elvis Andrus is hitting .333 (18 for 54) since July 20. He has five extra-base hits in the last week, compared to 20 in the first 3 1/2 months. Andrus and hitting coach Dave Magadan both credited a bigger leg kick that Andrus has turned to, which has allowed him to drive the ball better.

I sure would like to know if Magadan suggested it or if someone else did or if he came up with it on his own. It would definitely make me feel better about Magadan if it was his idea.I actually noticed that leg kick, and meant to mention something about it on here. I also noticed a slight change in Hamilton's mechanics. He's not resting the bat on his shoulder and he got rid of the double toe tap, which I think was part of his problem. He seems to be driving the ball better lately.
It seems every time a manager keeps using a pitcher when he shouldn't and fails miserably and helps to make the manager look like an idiot we put the said pitcher on the DL.
Saturday's game. Not sure if it was Friday or Saturday's game, but the broadcast noted that Choo had the highest batting avg. on the team since the All Star Break. I was kinda surprised.
Andrus has looked a lot better at the plate lately. It would be a huge plus if he could keep it up but history causes me to be a skeptic in this happening.I have been about as anti-Dave Magadan as anyone, but I have to give him props for this. Of course the article doesn't actually say it was Magadan's idea. Maybe I will have to ask Evan about that if he does a chat session this week.

HaHa. I wish that would have been the case with Oliver and Rhodes when Wash was here.It seems every time a manager keeps using a pitcher when he shouldn't and fails miserably and helps to make the manager look like an idiot we put the said pitcher on the DL.
I also think the 30 minute bottom of the 1st that Perez sat in the dugout and a really hot Yankees offense had something to do with the bad outing. Not saying the tweaks did not help because if Perez thinks they did then they probably did. But the Yankees offense is just pounding everyone right now.
I have to admit I was laughing as I typed that comment.HaHa. I wish that would have been the case with Oliver and Rhodes when Wash was here.
