Great catch by Smith.
Probably better than Kninzer or Jankowski. Heim should PH also. Will Grossman PH in 9th?
okay i am wrong our bullpen is world class it's all on the offenseHey Scotsman, 6 hits 1run. Yeah pitching is the problem.
Good observation.Sincere question: why even bring deGrom back this season? Useless innings on a 30mil per year arm coming off 2nd TJ surgery...for a team with zero postseason possibilities.
He needs to pitch in meaningful games. With his injury history...why risk it?
He can use this season to ramp up his innings some. To go more innings next season, he needs some this season. If he goes almost 2 years without pitching and you need him to pitch 150 or more innings next year, he will get hurt again. He needs at least 50 to 75 innings this year to partially ramp up.Sincere question: why even bring deGrom back this season? I see your point. But after September he will just shut it down again until spring training and the ramp up begins anew.He can use this season to ramp up his innings some. Well, we will have to disagree on deGrom. Leiter too, I guess. I want him to spend the whole season at Round Rock. He isn't ready.I see your point. But after September he will just shut it down again until spring training and the ramp up begins anew.
Rangers have to get the most and best return from an investment like Jacob deGrom. Making 5-6 starts this year for a team clearly out of it seems very risky.
Rather see Bradford and Leiter get those starts to really assess where they are going into 2025.
Don't get me wrong. I can't wait to see deGrom return. But not in a season already over.
A ramp up after an offseason is no big deal. Every pitcher does that. A ramp up after 21 months off is completely different.after September he will just shut it down again until spring training and the ramp up begins anew.
Depressing lolHans Crouse has not allowed a run in his first 7 innings with the Angels. But at least we got a couple of years of Spencer Howard.
agree except i'd give the Relief Pitching a D-Grades to this Point
Offense - F
Starting Pitching - B
Relief Pitching - C
Defense - B-
10-18 since then with 9 games to go. I was too optimistic.Looking at the upcoming schedule I think we could go 16-21 between now and the AS break. That would put us at 45-51.
