And the Mock pick is from Baseball Prospect Journal:

30. Rangers: Billy Amick, 3B, Tennessee

Amick is in his first season at Tennessee after starting his college career at Clemson. As a sophomore at Clemson last year, he developed into an impact bat and has continued it this spring in the SEC. The right-handed hitter hits for above-average power to all fields. Defensively, he has displayed improved skills at third base and will have the chance to stick there in pro ball.

That is great to see. May take him a week or two to get up to speed but we will have a much better lineup with him in it.
Just hope Smith will still get plenty of ABs.
Hopefully, by that time Jung, Langford and Carter will be up to speed and Taveras will be the odd man out.

3B Jung
LF Smith
CF Carter
RF Garcia
DH Langford

Those 5 and Seager could all rotate out at DH.

After a forgettable April, Josh Hader is having a great month for the Astros. He could end up being a very good investment for them. I hope the Rangers will pay for a great closer in free agency at some point.

Seems like when Jung is in the line up, other guys do better too. Everyone just goes down a peg further. We’re a lot deeper, and a lot harder to deal with.

as for smith, I think Bochy has to find a place to play him now. He’s done way too good in Jung’s absence. Might be the biggest bright spot of our season so far.

And you can even give Smith a break and let him DH and Langford play LF. Between Jung, Smith and Langford they can rotate those guys and keep them fresh. Grossman should be squeezed out of the equation completely.

I would like to see some power from Lankford that we have been told about.

From Shawn McFarland:

Bruce Bochy said Marcus Semien has been playing a little banged up since his collision with Adolis Garcia in the outfield a week or two ago.

He said it was a “mutual” decision to give Semien his first day off in over two years.

Bruce Bochy said that Semien is getting a FULL off day (aka no pinch hitting) and that he expects him to play Friday in Miami.

From Evan Grant:

I asked Bruce Bochy why he didn't just start Heaney tonight, since he was on regular rest. He didn't really provide clarity.

But as best as I can tell the 2 off days this week give them opportunity to use Heaney twice as middle reliever and bypass the soft part of the bullpen.
