Series Thread: Rangers Host the Cardinals For Three Games May 30 - June 1

The Rangers will try to see if they can win a series. However, their struggles could very well continue against a good Cardinals team.

We continue to march toward the season of decision making, or the last half of July. This series as well as the other 12 series between now and the All Star Break, should show CY and company what decisions they need to make. The way they approach the deadline should show us if they are ready to do what is necessary to make major improvements, or if they will bury their heads in the sand and pretend the problems aren't all that bad.

If the Rangers continue to struggle, I would like to see a heavy dose of Foscue and Crim in the last 2 months plus, so we can see what we have before we get to the offseason. By now it probably goes without saying, that Osuna needs to play a lot as well. That might mean doing anything necessary to unload Semien and Garcia in July.

I am not saying that either of those young guys are locks to perform well, but we do need to find out. We can not replace everyone externally. We need to know where we are adequate or better so we can focus on the areas where we are not.

I didn't like the play he didn't make in LF in the last game. He took a step back and then hesitated and then tried to come in and dive for it and couldn't get it.

Yeah, he is still getting used to LF as he hasn't played it much lately. He will get better though.

No team will trade for him if they have to pay very much of his salary. If they are only required to pay $4-5 million they might take a chance. Even Elvis had a team willing to trade for him if the money was right.
