Looks like the Rangers will not have face Trout for awhile. He has a torn meniscus.
Washington encouraged Trout to steal more bases this year. Maybe not the best decision.

Wash also started batting him leadoff a few games ago. He has 10 homers (Very good) and 14 RBI’s (Not so good for the HR’s he’s hit).

That's Wash. As a manager, he makes a great 3rd base coach.

From Evan Grant:

Another small step for Texas Rangers prospect Kumar Rocker as he inches toward returning from elbow surgery.

Rocker, who underwent ligament replacement surgery on May 22 of last year, this week has started throwing all of his pitches off a mound during weekly 40-pitch bullpen sessions. He spent April throwing only fastballs and occasional changeups.

If all goes well, he could start facing hitters in early June with the hope he could pitch in games sometime during July. Rocker, 24, was the Rangers’ first-round pick, third overall, in the 2023 draft. He has made just six starts and pitched 28 innings thus far.

Ironically, Rocker and Rangers starter Tyler Mahle had the same procedure on the same day, both performed by Rangers team orthopedist Dr. Keith Meister. Both are on almost identical schedules. Mahle’s bullpen work is also increasing and he will join the Rangers on the road starting this weekend as he continues to progress toward facing hitters.

As I said a while ago he has a body type that will be on the DL constantly. They should have traded him for multiple players instead of that big contract.

His average was way down. The media tried to make a big deal in that he was back and healthy because of his 10th homer but overall he was not hitting well. But the media tries its hardest to build certain players up.

These games are getting to be like play and repeat. This offense is abysmal.

At least we scratched and clawed for 1 run. Langford was over matched and he and Smith took first pitch strikes that were right down the middle of the plate.
We do have to remind ourselves that at this time last year Langford was playing for the University of Florida. Big jump in quality of pitching. Ask Jackson Holliday and he had a year in minors.

What does Smith have in his drinking h20? What an incredible turn around.

I wish the Rangers would consider moving Cory down in the lineup until he starts hitting. Put Smith in the 2 hole.

To me, the part of the Josh Smith story that I can't understand, is why he struggled so badly for a year plus and then did well. I once said I thought he had the potential to hit .330 in the big leagues. Once he struggled for so long I did begin to doubt. This kind of turn around is definitely unbelievable.
