I think you missed my point. We were well out of the race when we made that trade and a few others since. Being sellers isn't new. Being on the cusp of contending, but not good enough to not be sellers is fairly new for us.

At this point does a GM worry about offending JD by asking him to trade some of our players for prospects. It has been awhile since we were in this predicament if we ever have been.

(1) Does a GM offend JD? My heavens, who'd want to offend him? Seriously? What's the downside? (2) We were in this predicament for my 1st decade + with franchise; which began in the early 80's.
