Man I’m all for getting on base by a HBP but Smith needs to be smart about it. That one got him in the wrist, very easy to severely damage that area.
It was a 3-2 count and a ball. Would have got to take the base whether it hit him or not.

Did not see it coming but Martin Perez is sure pitching like an ace. Not sure he'll continue to pitch like this, but if he continues to pitch anywhere near this well it might be a good idea to keep him in Texas for a few more years.

His meltdowns that drove me nuts are not there. He has become a pitcher. Just doesn't give them anything fat to hit.

That's the big thing–not giving up the long ball. He's not giving up anything big and has been amazingly efficient.

He always had the natural ability but he has a mental toughness now that he didn't have before.
