I hope nobody is getting their hopes up too high on this. I say that, as I know the Rangers were kicking the tires on him before the trade deadline, and, they were supposed to be very far apart on the conpensation then.

Who knows, but I think I would temper my expectations accordingly.

I actually kinda hope it doesn't work out, I think it might do more long term harm than good

It's not my money, so I don't mind. I don't think picking up Rios means you cannot extend Garza and pick up a FA cather.

I'd prefer to go after someone like Choo in the offseason, but thats not guarantee, but I'm pretty meh on Rios

another speedster with EXPERIENCE that can hit? LOVE it...I like Choo too, but why not go for it while we've got a good chance at the division. I know we've been winning, but I still think the offense is a little thin.
IMO, he rounds it out PERFECTLY. (well, for what's available now and actually I wanted him at the deadline).

all depends on the price of course. I don't worry about JD overpaying...

can't blame the sox to much for giving it a try. They do have history like the dump of Harold Baines and later plugged Danks from us for McCarthy.

I trust JD here but Rio's would fit nicely for the run.
