I don't think it was intentional but if you don't throw him out you have to give the opposing team a chance to get even. How does a pitcher/manager make a point to protect his players?

Thats what I thought at first but this kid has legit stuff. His slider is nasty and his 96-97 mph fastball goes in all different directions
