Makes perfect sense. A TD pass creates points for 2 players, a running TD for 1 player. Plus, you're trying to keep the top QB in line with the top RB (within reason) and the top WR, etc. Scoring is a major problem when you get to IDP however, as it is really hard to quantify with points.

Precisely. I don't play FF but whatever game you play you play to the rules and you create a strategy to maximise your chances in whatever is the game situation.

In 2022 there were 19 games played on Thursday. Technically, the opening night and Thanksgiving games would reduce the official TNF tv figures to 15 games, but in real terms it's 19 games and obviously there aren't 38 different teams to fill the schedule. As it is TNF requires 30 teams to fill the 15 spots and it's unrealistic to limit every team to 1 appearance.

By 2030 I suspect the NFL will extend the season by 1 week and it will have a rule guideline requiring 10 days gap before and after mid-week games. This will allow for Wednesday Night football.
