last word I heard out of Atlanta is they have no intentions of cutting him either, so as it stands today, they'd have to trade for him and his contract. And I assume he's got a no trade clause that he may or may not invoke? How badly do you want to be a starter and get paid that money you thought you were going to get? Or do you, for the third time in your career, play the high stakes game of chicken with your contract situation and wait for someone to blink while you collect 40M on the bench?
Yeah they would have to entice him to CLE unless they did end up cutting him before the bonus hits. I don’t see either of those realistic

The interesting thing is if Rodgers does sign with Pittsburgh then Cousins has very few options and really only bad options.

TEN, CLE and NYG

All with top picks, likely take a qb in the draft and looking for a bridge qb. Not desirable destinations too.

You have Mac, Flacco and Cousins left. All could be bridge guys. Cousins the only sure starter out of them though

Vikings made quite the splash in FA on both offense and defense.

Barring injuries, JJ is going to have a nice group of guys protecting him.

On the other side, if they can get another good CB, Brian Flores will be drooling.

It sure seems to me that the plan is JJ (on that rookie contract) is the man and they sign a veteran backup.

Although I keep hearing the "Rodgers for one year" whispers.

I wish the Steelers would sign the F'n guy already!

no doubt..could you imagine? "naw, that Addison guy sucks, bring in Lazard, trade the Rams our first round pick for Adams, and go dig up Randall Cobb's fossilized ass. At least my old buddy A Jones is around, better go get AJ Dillon too though just to be sure I have MY guys"

If he is the guy I know he will average 190 yards passing and the master of stop routes and slant routes.
haha, I have much more faith than that. Besides your Ohio State affiliation has a skewed view against a Wolverine that beat you three straight times (even though he only REALLY played in the last 2). BTW, he average 205 and 2 scores in those two games vs those Buckeyes ;)

Gonna give up NFL if Rodgers does indeed go GB > NYJ > MIN all the while playing at the retiring/unretiring bullshit too

Yeah they beat Ohio St and he was a game manager. He’s got a hell of a coach now though so maybe he can turn him into something more than an accurate, smart game manager

That's was pretty much what they said about Brady too ;)

Just bustin yer chops. I have no delusions of him being Tom Brady, but he's had big games when he was needed, was just rarely needed

JJ is a better prospect in all facets of the game than Brady.

Hell, I was at a game once when Tommy got benched mid game for general suckiness. That wasn’t happening with JJ.

I think he can actually be a pretty damn good QB when he develops and like I said, O'Connell is a hell of a coach.

Vikings are doing what they can to surround him with talent and made some big moves on defense...that's what you do when you have a QB on a rookie contract

A lot of QB's were better prospects than Brady and all of them were worse lol.

JJ could be good or he could be a bust...nobody knows really. He seems to have a high football IQ, doesn't make too many mistakes...my only slight is he can't be the guy to dominate a game but that could be based on the Michigan offense. I think he is a good fit in Minny

I'll say that based on the production Kevin O'Connell got out of Cousins and Darnold, seems JJ has a shot to learn from one of the better offensive minds.

If McCarthy doesn't succeed, he has zero excuses.
