I have been hearing some comments that Johnathon Taylor's usage is going to be reduced this year, that they are saying that Hines is you going to be used more. Has anyone else heard this? I had the 1st pick and am contemplating McCaffrey. 330 carries and 40 receptions last year was quite a load. But just wondering g how much Hines will make a dent in this numbers.

For what it's worth, They said the exact same thing last year about Hines and it didn't come true. I think if you have the first pick and you want the safer guy with a much higher floor but not as high of a ceiling you go with Taylor. If you want the highest upside but the lowest floor you go with McCaffery. Or if you're like me and you already own one of them in another league I'd draft the other one. I try to spread the first round running back risk out as much as I possibly can across all of my leagues. My teams have a lot of later round guys in common, but those early rounds can kill you if you have too much stock in one guy and he gets hurt. Just my opinion though.

Ya, I will probably stick with the sure thing. Thanks

So I was just thinking about Kyle Pitt’s value. In a redraft PPR format he is right around 50 but what about in a start-up dynasty.

I’m in a 10 team 1/2 PPR dynasty (could be adding 2 more teams before the draft), so 50 is the end of round 5. He will go much higher in a dynasty.

Would you take him in round 2 depending on your slot?

It actually looks like Fantasy Pros has him ranked as #10 overall, in Tier 2, above some top RB’s including the rookie Bryce Hall.

so its a start up

i think you are behind the 8 ball a bit for a year or 2 unless you can grab some serious meet in the mid rounds

i guess it depends on how well you know the other owners and their tendencies..

as for Pitts himself ya should be looking at the top TE in a year or 2 from now but then again ya never know...

i do believe if ya go Pitts in 2 then you may suffer a bit this year...

It is ppr, but I'm going with the more surer player. Not saying McCaffrey will get hurt or Taylor won't get hurt. Taylor was a very reliable red zone guy.

Yeah I agree. If he were to fall to 3 or 4 I could go for that. Taking him in the 2nd seems like more of a rebuild year in most cases.

I agree with barilko. But i think really if you go tight end in the top 4-5 rounds and you dont take one who is a top 2 scorer this year, then you will suffer this year regardless. If thats the case, and you want pitts , get him. Nothing wrong with semi struggling year one in a start up.

Yeah good point but I’m not sure he struggles. Idk I feel a Jamarr Chase year coming on again. With no Ridley the Atlanta offense is going to target Pitts a ton especially if London has injury concerns but I was thinking around round 4 without suffering in year one. I just don’t know if he last till round 4 honestly

He wont be there round 4. Thing is though, pitts is getting covered like a top wr, hes not a wr., i think atlanta needs some other weapons to take heat off of him, hes not gonna separate like a wr. Just a little devils advocate from some things i have read

I’d be surprised to see him drafted past the third round. Some are going to feel that if they draft him then they have no worries about TE for years and not a lot of both top tier and young TEs.

Against a LB? Not many if any LB’s can cover him

not pitts to struggle your team may (when drafting a TE in 2) but if Pitts blows up like Chase then no worries.. go for it if ya want him as most likely someone else will

I'm a Pitts fan for FF - as Harold said, not a lot of young top-tier TEs.

IMO most of the league is going to be giving up a hundred points to you at TE if you have Pitts, and for ten years. Impossible to find another player who will give you that at their position.

Yeah I’m not sure I am bold enough to pull the trigger in the 2nd!

I doubt you’ll need to worry about it.

He wouldn’t get past me at ten anyway.

Being a ten team league leaves a lot more depth to be had at RB. And each years new crop is less spread out. Pitts doesn’t have a new version coming out of every draft. Or any draft, maybe. Taylor and Hines would be the only RBs I’d consider before him in a PPR startup. I’d consider him at 5 tbh.

Good catch there Smitty, yeah ten league league ups his value for sure for the reasons you gave.
