There were a couple of spots he might have tried. Since they told him to throw it there then that is where he should have gone or have a darned good explanation to the coaches. Bullock has a point in that he could have tried rolling out to influence the D. We all know that there is a lot less area to throw when you are inside the 20.

I do feel if RR is going to talk about this to the media and fans then he needs to sit with Haskin's and tell him how he felt. My guess is he has done that or will do it.

Not the stat I use but his QBR is dead last and QB rating (old school) there are four guys with a lower rating. Once again I am not advocating a change but saying Allen is worse is not necessarily true. I do not think there is proof of that. If you compare Haskins stats this year to Allen's last year they are very close to the same.

Very interesting read Dad.

From the article...

It's becoming a weekly tradition to question how Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera handles late-game situations.

Instead of hoarding timeouts against Baltimore though, the latest head-scratcher came when Rivera had a chance to kick a field goal in the fourth quarter in order to cut the lead to a couple of scores. Instead, Rivera wanted to test his quarterback by going for it on fourth-and-13, which eventually failed, resulting in a turnover on downs.

"I wanted to see what would happen, I really did," Rivera said.

A lot of people were left trying to figure out the timing of Rivera's test, including former tight end Logan Paulsen:

"If Logan Paulsen was head coach of the Football Team, which I'm not and probably never will be," Paulsen said on 106.7 The Fan's 'Grant and Danny,' "I think that's an odd decision, I would definitely question myself. I'd be like 'if I'm trying to test to see where he's at, then why haven't I used other opportunities prior to this to test him and see where he's at'. Why not do the two-minute drill last week or the week before that? If this is really just an evaluation of Dwayne Haskins then why didn't I take advantage of other opportunities in situations that in my opinion -- and this is just my opinion -- that are more football relevant. How many fourth-and-13's do you have in your careers. I'm sure it's like a handful of times. Unless that's something that he went over with him specifically on the sideline that game or that week, I just think it was kind of an odd decision personally."

That’s what I’ve honestly wondered about with some of RR decisions, particularly at the end of games. I mean...all good if things work out, and hoping for the best for DH (his improvement is quite obviously the best chance for us this year and into the future if he can develop). But in what universe is this type of teachable moment your ‘go to’ form? I agree with Logan... Odd. Really odd.

The under is giving the points. +9 or better. You have the over +10 and everything after that.
Just to make sure I haven’t botched my understanding here...lol

The Rams must win by at LEAST 10-1/2 points for ME to lose the bet.

From JP Finley...

Dwayne Haskins passed for more than 300 yards for the first time in his NFL career on Sunday, and yet, Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera did not seem thrilled with the performance. D

To former Washington Football tight end Chris Cooley it sounds like the coach and the quarterback aren't exactly on the same page.

"I think there is a disconnect between Ron and Dwayne in terms of how Dwayne is playing," Cooley said.

The suggestion makes sense as Rivera has publicly questioned Haskins' level of success. Maybe it's trying to motivate the young QB, or maybe it's real concern about the level of play as Washington continues to be in the middle of the NFC East race.

"He made some plays and he missed some plays," the coach said after the 31-17 loss to the Ravens.

For Haskins, he didn't sound enthusiastic about his performance on Sunday, but he wasn't down either.

"I’m definitely not satisfied but it’s something to build upon and work on," Haskins said. "I want to play football, fundamental football, have fun, most importantly out there."

After the game, Rivera was asked about Haskins as the Week 5 starter against the Rams.

"It's Dwayne's game going into this week and we’ll see how things unfold," the coach said.

For the record. I think fans are being too hard on DH. This franchise has been a perpetual death hole for raw undeveloped talent. And 100x worse at the QB position.

Oline has shown some good resilience and growth over the first 4 games under difficult circumstances. PFF ranking now 20th from game 1s last in the NFL
