That's kinda crazy to think about.

Crazy!!

I'm pretty sure they're gonna select the wrong player. Unless they do another blockbuster trade; a Mike Ditka for Ricky Williams type trade with another team that desperately needs a QB (Teddy) or an elite pass rusher (Jadeveon).

Correction on the post:

The Redskins would have to lose, and the Texans would have to win.

who do the rams draft, what about trade us the pick for this tears 1st next years first and this years 2nd and 3rd rd pick. we would still have a 2nd,3rd and a 1st this year. we draft clowny and we look really scare next year. rams get alot for the pick. they need more then 1 player. they would have 1st rd pick, 2 2nd and 2 3rds in this draft plus 2 1st next year.

I have hard time seeing the Texans passing on a QB.

I'd love to grab TJ Yates as a backup QB here, though.

Yates would be a nice backup.

Does Houston repeat the mistake they made passing on Julius Peppers for a QB? That would be sad for Texans' fans.

Well, they DID pass on a QB for Mario Williams, too.

That said, I don't see them passing on a QB. They already have an established defense with Watt and Smith on the DL, and Clowney is tailor made for the 4-3, not the 3-4.

I just don't see them going in any direction other than QB, unless they trade down.

All that makes perfect sense, but if I were the GM I'd still take Clowney or trade the pick for a fortune of picks. Regarless of scheme. Clowney may be perfect for a 4-3, but I'd want him on my defense no matter what scheme I were running.

Oh and Antonio Smith is a FA after this season.

Not when I need a freakin' QB. Getting Clowney doesn't take precedence over getting a franchise QB, and especially not when my front seven is damn decent already.

That is, of course, they view one of the QBs as a franchise type. If they don't, then I'd look for the next best deal to trade out of the pick.

Totally agree, and if Andrew Luck were in this draft I'd say to heck with Clowney. But selecting a QB is like selecting a wife. You' better be damn sure you have the right girl / QB, and even then you can be wrong a lot of the time.

Well, you're not gonna find an Andrew Luck every draft. But that's not a reason to pass a QB over.

Honestly, at this point, I'd look to trade down to secure more picks for next year. Jameis Winston is as close as you're gonna get to Andrew Luck as a prospect. Another guy that's really intriguing for me as a prospect is Bryce Petty. Both are probably better than any option this draft has to offer at QB.

Thought if Johnny Manziel fixes a few things about his game (both physically and mentally) that tick me off, he'd have to potential to be really, really scary.

If the Redskins beat the Giants and the Colts beat the Jags, the Rams will probably have the 3rd pick. So the Rams are locked into the top 3 I do believe.

The official word from the team and insiders talking with the team is that they are 100% behind Bradford. Jeff Fisher is known for sticking with mediocre QBs like Kerry Collins but this defies all logic if they have the #1 overall pick and Teddy Bridgewater lives up to where I think he is as a prospect (probably around the same level as McNabb). I think Carr has played his way out of the first round, Manziel doesn't have the arm strength and Bortles is along the lines of a Jake Locker type prospect and Im not sure the Rams would go all-in on a guy like that.

So a long story short, the Rams are going to have Teddy Bridgewater if the Redskins win or Jake Matthews if the Redskins lose. And a few years from now, Rams fans will be complaining we didnt get Clowney.

There is also the possibility that the Rams just go all in on the pass rush with Clowney. It would be total overkill but...yeah..

Question: Is there even a Franchise QB in this draft. I don't see it.
