He hasn't played to his potential in Tampa, but you could say that about most of that team. I'm not worried about talent level here, as he is talented and an upgrade for the Rams.

My worry is that he's a free agent at the end of the year. Did the Rams just throw away two draft picks on a rental? Who was the last desirable free agent that the Rams were able to keep?

Jacob, he was second on his team in tackles and his team is awful. He's pure upside with talent on a shitty team.

If a Safety is 2nd on the team in tackles what's that tell you?

This guy was the seventh overall pick 2 years ago and now he's boing traded for 2 3rd day picks. Think about that guys! Maybe Fisher and Co. can get all of the talent out of him that his high draft status promised but people here don't seem to have a problem with him being traded. He hasn't been good.

He's only 25 and in his third year. He can still reach that upside.

he was a 1st round pick. Rams can exercise a 4th year option.

I think this is a very good trade for the Rams. Barron doesn't fit the Tampa 2 defense the Bucs now run. Plus he was too similar to Goldson. He has played well in his first 2 1/2 seasons in Tampa.

he was a 1st round pick. Rams can exercise a 4th year option.

I think you mean the 5th year option. Barron is signed through 2015 with a 5th year option available. But unless he shows he's a playmaker, I doubt the Rams would exercise that option because the salary for the 5th year would be equal to the league's transition tag number.

It's a good trade

A 4th and 6th round pick for a former 1st rounder.

Look who the Rams took in those rounds this past year. Alexander who is not ready to start and needs to be developed and a QB that was released.

Barron, McDonald, Johnson and Jenkins with Joyner mixed in could be a scary unit.

I agree with you Jacob. But it might be fun to watch 2 good safeties hittin people, I can guarantee you that.

If Trumaine can come back, along with Chris Long and our LB's improve... This D could get really good.

Another thing I can guarantee you is that WR's are going to be looking over their shoulders when going over the middle.

lol, they do that now right before they cross the goal line for a TD...or when they see the middle of the field is wide open and are wondering why the LB's didn't cover.

This was probably in response to McCleod going down on Sunday and since Alexander is apparently not ready for prime time, they made this move. I wonder what they have in mind for the O-line. Washington off the PS and inserted somewhere on the active roster I am sure.

Mark Barron is a great pick up finally the rams make a smart move. and we have our own LOB with him and TJ.

and we only gave up a 4th and a 6th finally. I always see trades involving Boldin for a 3rd Marshall for a 3rd and we finally make one of those deals I couldn't be more happy to see them pulling there heads outta there bums

Instead of the picks, I wish we could have traded Schotty instead. I'd feel a whole lot better about the trade that way, not that I exactly have faith in what we would've done with those 2 picks.

Barron doesn't fit the new NFL model of defense. And no he didn't play well under Schiano either.

Quite a few moves were made this week in light of all the injuries. Of course we all know by now about the Mark Barron trade. Today, we signed a WR that Fisher knew at Tennessee, from the Dolphins, Damian Williams. He was signed to the active roster. Got him for nothing as he cleared waivers from Miami.

We also signed another Dolphins player, Steven Baker, Tackle, 6-8, 310 to the practice squad, Emory Blake, who was brought back after being cut earlier, Travis Bond, a huge OG at 6-6, 329lbs, and Case Keenum will be headed to the PS. Gone from the PS are Denicos Allen, LB, Garrett Gilbert QB, although he may be brought back after clearing waivers, Jemea Thomas, the same as well and Kadron Boone, LB.

Activated to the active roster are T/OG Brandon Washington whom I expected, Korey Toomer LB from the CaBoys, and the LB McFadden. Of course, Quick and Long are on the season-ending IR.

We now have a full active roster and two spots open on the PS one of which may be taken by Thomas. Are any these players good players? I don't know!
