Per ROTOWORLD:

Rams released DT Kendall Langford.
The move clears $6 million in cap space. Signed to a four-year, $24 million deal in March 2012, Langford was a 16-game starter in 2012 and 2013, but was benched in favor of Aaron Donald last season. He played just 494 snaps, managing one sack. Still only 29, Langford has experience at defensive end. That versatility and relative youth could earn him some guaranteed money on the open market.

Opens up an opportunity for Carrington to stick around and prove his worth.

Hopefully more cuts to come (Wells notably, perhaps Long).

Cant argue against this one. Depth is great but too much for a back up.

We should have traded him last year before the deadline, because all of us knew he was extra baggage against the cap. This front office has no idea about maximizing asset value or creating roster flexibility.

Now we get nothing. Could have netted a six round pick from somebody last year. We knew at the trading deadline we were not going to make the playoffs, so holding onto Langford was a major mistake.

Most Rams fans had him pegged as an overpriced player so Im pretty sure all other GMs were waiting till he hit the open market. I dont think he had any value in a trade.

Next up Scott Wells and Jake Long, then, Sam Bradford takes his pay cut. We load up in free agency on the OL and select WR Mike White with the 10th pick in the 2015 draft. This offense could turn around very quickly if Les Snead and Jeff Fisher play their cards right!

For this to be the first cap cut, im a bit sadden. He was the least of my worries. I know Donald was good last year, but he could disappear within his sophomore campaign and Langford would have atleast brought in some experience. :/

I think they are going to move J.Long to RT Tackle.

yeah hes a good player. I think they are going to restructure Longs contract and move him to rt tackle. Wells needs to go.

The Rams may re-sign him at a lower price as OTA's approach and he hasn't signed elsewhere.

I really like Langford. But its a business moved and makes total sense. As others said he's too highly paid and I think that killed any trade value.

The Cardinals cut Darnell Dockett who is returning from an ACL. If we could get him on the cheap, he'd be a nice depth player at DT.
