Lions released DT Damon Harrison.
"Snacks" no more. The move creates $6.7 million in cap space, and comes after a disappointing season for the run-stuffer extraordinaire. Harrison saw his Pro Football Focus grade crater while playing his fewest snaps since 2014. He missed one game with a groin injury. Harrison's down year does need to be viewed through the prism of an overall terrible Lions defense. 2020 will be Snacks' age-32 campaign. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Harrison contemplated retirement last season but wants to continue playing. His goal on the open market will be landing guaranteed money for the upcoming season. He is unlikely to secure any for 2021.

Wish he had just kept quiet. Not sure what will happen to him.

wish he was healthy last season and had 1 more year of defense in him like the latter half of 2018

It is his first bad season and the injury didnt help but he may not be done. Could have just been circumstance and possibly have some more good play left if his head is in it.

Might as well go after DJ Reader or Javon Hargrave in FA at this point.

It makes less sense to draft a NT at #3 or #5 or wherever they end up. His 5th year option would be somewhere in the 14-15M range by the time that comes around.

A NT provides little impact from a production aspect.

and I like Derrick Brown a LOT.

Yup. Pats might scoop him up.

Probably so.

I hope that happens for him.

NYG didn't do him any favors with the roster they had and head problems from OBJ and a declining Eli.

Chris Jones?

I wish.

He's more of a 5/4i/3-tech and not a NT.

He's played some 0/1 but that'd be a waste.

I'd still want him as the former but his market value is 19M per year

Chris Jones

One can dream having Chris Jones though.

The only DT's this team has are DaShawn Hand and Kevin Strong (who was a rookie UDFA from UTSA)

John Atkins is the only NT signed

not an encouraging group.

Don't forget the Rams trading us Aaron Donald for a 6th.

And Patricia getting convicted of r*pe.

And Antonio Brown finding religion and signing with the Lions on a sweetheart deal.
