Henderson and Akers are not practicing as they their lower leg injuries continue to be slow-healing. That leaves Ragas, Funk, and Williams. So it looks as though the Rams may start the season by bringing in one or all of the following for a look-see: Alfred Morris, just got cut by the Giants; Malcolm Brown who is an ex-Rams and just got cut by the Saints; and Kenyan Drake just released by the Raiders.

Go get Drake.

Morris is toast.

Apparently the Rams dominated the practices in 7 on 7 drills and when it was Number Ones against each other. Last score I saw was 18-7 Rams in the Ones against each other. The other big news is McVay has hired Jay Gruden as a special consultant. Gruden and McVay go back to coaching together with the Redskins. Maybe someone will now pick O and D-lineman correctly because the Rams freed-up $2 million in cap space to sign a RB and/or better O-Lineman after the coming cutdown and start of the season.

Keir Thomas make the team? He’s been good but is he more of a 4-3 DE than a 3-4 OLB? At 6’2 272 I’m not sure even though he is listed as EDGE and does have speed, even that burst you want on the Dline.

Who would he make it over?

I don't know yet if Keir Thomas made the roster but the battle was with Braden Thomas and Benton Whitely. Keir is the bigger of the three but way more explosive. Braden may get cut or put on the PS and Keir and Benton Whitely may make the active 53-man roster outright because Benton Whitely was a def keeper back two preseason games or so.

I'm curious if the league will ever expand the roster to 55 active. Seeing as though they've added another game and may potentially add more in the future. It would make more sense because it's a shame too see some good ones get scooped by another team.

The owners have been discussing it recently, Jermaine! It is one reason they expanded the PS to 16 players this year but those are open to poaching by other teams. Many HC's and GM's around the league want to go to the 55 or 56-man active roster because of the poaching.
