I misrepresented Cooley's position. They talked about Orakpo and LBF while I was driving home yesterday because the press grilled Haslett about both.

Cooley's position is as dad say Orakpo gets chipped by the TE a lot. 22 times in the Dallas game. He also said other top pass rushing specialists get chipped and still get sacks. He said he thinks he is playing to a pretty good level and should be retained but his stats don't suggest a top tier contract at this point. I think that is what most of us think also. Lets give the guy a nice contract, he deserves that. We just don't want to break the bank for him.

dad is very right about how oftern this team has drafted someone then let them go because they wanted to sign the newest shiny coin only to watch a Pierce or Clark or a Cleamons go elsewhere and do a very good job. I think all of those guys were the pre-Shanahan/Allen regime.

Every one of them were pre-Shanahan guys. This is what has to change. A Cerrato move would be to let RAK go and sign Ware. That won't happen because Ware is not a FA and Cerrato is dead to the organization. I think Clark was our biggest mistake.

I do believe the Skins will Franchise him, with the hopes of getting him signed long term to a contract that will reflect his true value....However, they should be prepared to pay him franchise money....he is a better then average player that does make those around him better, and we have developed him, and he is enterring the prime of his career.....and to replace him, would be difficult based on the anticipated FA's.....He does more then sack the QB...he draws holding penaltys, (which by the way has single handedly won a game)........My hope is ...we do get him signed long term after he is franchised to a good contract, but...give him his 1 year contract at big money if need be......then he would definetly be in a PROVE IT mode after that....otherwise....see ya after the 1 year of franchise money

dad I am a HUGE Kerrigan fan. I think he is a bit better than Orakpo but man he would have to step it up to the 14 sack per season level. In my mind there are two things you pay for when it comes to a standup DE which is really what these two are. Sacks and turnovers. They are both good players but neither has been elite yet.
