adam schein picks the Chargers to win because Rivers is better than Dalton and SD beat Denver (in Denver)

Philip Rivers' San Diego Chargers looking dangerous for playoffs - NFL.com

Ridiculous..... If the Chargers play like they played when we played them the first time, we'll win by three touchdowns. If they play like they did yesterday, we'll win by four touchdowns. There is no way to justify their shitty performance yesterday -- They played second string players that were just running basic plays and they should have lost.

Best possible outcome if you root against the Steelers. They miss the playoffs for two years straight, but are still picking at the back end of the first round. It's hard to continue to get impact players when you're always drafting low..... And they have a lot of spots to fill as some of the vets get older.

Not to mention that they are projected at 10+mil over the cap, and their defense isn't nearly as good as it has been in the past, and they are not getting any younger, or impact players. The core of that defense averages something like 33-34 years old.

They still have Ben....as long as they do they'll always be dangerous.....

Let them doubt us. We'll be sneaking up on some of them. Too bad the other teams know better. We are 3-0 vs other division winners (NE, Indy, GB) and 4-0 vs all playoff teams.

Just bring it.

By comparison, last year we were 2-2 vs division winners going into the playoffs, and one of those wins was vs a Baltimore team resting its starters. Then we got thumped by another division winner in our only playoff game. I'm trying to demonstrate how much more battle tested these guys are now. We now can beat good teams, something we have always struggled with in the past.

While we're at it, all 7 regular season losses in 2011 were against playoff teams, vs zero wins.

Yes, we can beat good teams.

Unfortunately, SD is a shitty team.

this town won't even notice if we win the superbowl, because the team didn't do a rap video.

That and we'll be busy getting ready for the nightmare Reds season that will begin this Spring.

Wow. I did not realize that.

We only beat SD by 7 in the first meeting, but we took 3 knees inside their 15 yard line to run the clock down and to keep them from getting the ball back. We would have won by 14 if not for that, in SD, where we are not a great road team.

At home, our last 5 games: 49, 41, 42, 42, 34 - If SD thinks it can score 35+ points against our #3 ranked defense...then cool for them. HAHA I don't think they can.

I've never understood all the hate the Bengals get. They have been irrelevant for most of the past two decades. What is there to hate? It's why I would like to punch Boomer Esiason in the fucking face.

The Chargers are going to get crushed. It's going to be so sweet to see the look on Bruschi's fat fucking face. Fuck you, Ted.

We also had the luxury of playing NE, GB, and Indy at home. With the exception of Indy (and SD), none of those games would/will be played at home in the playoffs. The Bengals were 3-5 on the road this season. Plenty of reason to doubt us against any team other than the Chargers.

The only loss on the road that the Bengals really werent in the game was @Pitt.

Chicago, they were in it, and should have gotten the ball back, but RM negated that.

Balt and MIA were in OT, lost by FG's each time.

CLeveland game, was awful, but they had many chances to get something going. That might have been the worst offensive game on the road this year. Even in Pitt they moved the ball OK. Special teams killed 'em there.

Bengals have been close on the road, I don't think they should be considered "pushovers" on the road by any means.

I pretty much agree with this, especially with last year's road record a positive one. They were maybe three or four plays away from 6-2 on the road. I also know that New England and Denver are both very formidable at home. But I do feel we match up well personel-wise with the Pats. We have an honest shot at those games, assuming we get our first playoff win in 23 years this Sunday. I know I'll be very disappointed if we don't. I'm confident we'll win this week, and if we do I'm certainly not going to be shaking in my boots at the prospect of going to Foxboro. Hoping the late offensive explosion at home can carry over to the road.
